This Mediteranean Beach House in Lennox Head was creatively crafted in hempcrete, natural lime render and recycled details for artist and filmmaker Angus Mcdonald. Much inspiration for the home renovation was drawn from his time spent in Greece as a young painter where the light play of spaces is an important theme we carried through the project. Natural lime renders on hempcrete blend seamlessly with reclaimed hardwood timber features, repurposed cobbles and retro tiles to create a home that is also an art piece. Angus a 6 times Archibald prize finalist, has a painting studio incorporated into the lower level that flows into the garden spaces and ultimately beach access. The courtyard arrival space was designed to help acoustics from the road whilst feeling like a cobbled light filled village square. A truly beautiful home to design & build.
