So, there I was, rummaging through my game collection, when I stumbled upon Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia. It’s been gathering dust since its Kickstarter fanfare back in 2016, making me feel a bit like an archaeologist discovering an ancient, chibi-filled tomb. I remember popping it open once, greeted by these tiny heroes who seemed to believe I was their ticket to an epic, albeit miniaturized, adventure. 🎲✨ Revisiting the game was akin to flicking through a photo album of a holiday you took because it was a good deal - pleasant but not exactly the trip of a lifetime. The game itself? Light as a feather and twice as fluffy. It’s got the appeal of a Saturday morning cartoon: fun in short bursts but lacking the gravitas to make you sit up and ponder the mysteries of the universe. Masmorra’s charm is undeniable, with its cute figures and user-friendly gameplay that’s about as challenging as deciding what to watch on TV. It’s the board game equivalent of a feel-good movie that you wouldn’t necessarily rush to see in theaters but wouldn’t mind watching if it came on TV.
