Took Roch to a bar after his Beginner Education training class graduation today. I was very impressed that he continued to lay down even as people and other dogs came in. Granted no one acknowledged or pet him. That's the problem, people that want to say hi to him or make eye contact get Roch standing on his back legs jumping in their face, he's getting much better with greetings. Roch is definitely a continuing work in progress, we need to keep fine tuning some skills he's learned, practice makes perfect. Peanut & Roch went to the vet today. Roch is solid 80# but could stand to gain a few, he eats 7 cups a day currently. Peanut is still slim at 12.5#, compared to 18# in her fat girl days. They were both completely adored by the staff, demanding all the attention. BABY PUPPY RIGHT ROCH!!! 🥰 Roch was adopted through Greyhounds Only by way of Irish Retired Greyhound Trust. I posted in their Facebook adopters group, just introducing myself and sharing photos of Roch now and his dog and cat friends. Someone replied that they had puppy photos of him, siblings, and mom Kayla (Caragh Kayla) who now resides with a friend of hers, how wonderful. I know we all dream of puppy pictures of our retired racers and I was thrilled to receive them. It's wonderful to get in touch with the people in their lives from the beginning, I'm sure they equally enjoy updates of them in their forever homes. Foster # 28 is Al (Midian Al), another Irish boy, he's actually going home today! He's been here about a week and half as his new home will have 2 cats. He does great but occasionally gets that urge to chase, he responds well though when I need to redirect him. He acts very shy initially but he's a fun boy that loves to run and play with toys. Of course also great with my little pups and the regular dogs at daycare. He loves laying in the yard soaking up the sun. Took a trip up to the kennel to see Dr. Barker with Juniper, foster Roch, and Al, a foster that hitched a ride with us. Juniper's neck looks good, and Dr. B didn't find anything else concerning after that incident in September with her neck swelling, extra skin, and pain. Any lumps I felt now are supposed to be there, lymph nodes, salivary glands, etc. Foster Roch and Al just got their exams done since coming in from Ireland. Foster # 27 is Roch (Right Roch) from Ireland. All breed friendly, small dog friendly, and cat friendly, I sure got lucky with him. He's big, enthusiastic, opportunistic if you leave anything on the counters, and little vocal too. He will lean his entire body weight into you or any dog, a free lap is fair game for his head, which I swear weighs a ton. He's a playful boy that loves to romp around the yard, I mean full on zoomies first thing in the morning. Roch is a strong boy that doesn't always realize how big he is, too jumpy on people for his size for example, but has a lovely personality. Vinne & Juniper, bringing the latest futuristic fashion trends to the Great Global Greyhound Walk this year. They recieved all the compliments on their new @rexspecsk9 goggles that definitely served their purpose on a beautifully sunny day, protecting their eyes from the UV rays that will aggravate their Pannus. They did exceptionally well with this being their first extended period of time wearing them. We saw all of our friends and had such a wonderful time with the humans too. I also dremeled some less than thrilled dogs nails while foster Kevin was passed around and adored.
