Coming in at 8.2%, it rocks Galaxy and Citra, it pours a hazy burnt orange with a foamy head and a dank, tropical nose, it’s sticky and sweet with citrus, peach, pineapple and grapefruit vibes, it’s juicy and smooth with sticky malt and tropical fruit juice notes, it’s dank af with a dry, stone fruit finish. Coming in at 11.9%, this is part of a 3-beer series of collabs with Rorschach that dropped last November, and this one rocks raw coconut, toasted coconut, cacao nibs and hazelnut. It pours hella thick with a great tan head and a chocolate coconut nose, it’s super silky and heavy with tons of grainy, bitter cacao and coconut vibes up front, it’s like a liquid Bounty bar without the intense sweetness (which is awesome), it’s sticky and decadent, wrapping in a bitter, chocolate coconut finish. For their fifth anniversary, @counterpartbrewing had a massive lineup of collabs, including this magnificent crispy with @finebalancebrewing called Peaks, a NZ Pilsner. It’s loosely modelled on Fine Balance’s Precipice, and has a very bold hop bill of Nelson Sauvin and Southern Cross SubZero Hop Kief, like you might expect to find in a NZ hopped hazy. It pours beautifully and has a pronounced minerality on the palate. It’s super crisp and dry with ample bitterness and notes of citrus and pine alongside tropical fruit and weedy dankness. This is super interesting because it has the bold tropical flavours of a NZ hopped NEIPA along with the crisp drinkability of a well done Pils. Happy Beerster Sunday folks! No stout made with cream eggs for me, but I am still enjoying an absolute decadent treat. Koko (Vanilla Banana) is an Imperial Stout w/ raw coconut, toasted coconut, vanilla beans, and dried banana, which was collab between @counterpartbrewing and @pubbrewskey for Counterpart's anniversary this year. I took a risk on this one because I am not a big fan of coconut, but it sounded so intriguing. I am glad I took the risk because I ended up loving it! Coconut and chocolate throughout the whole sip, with banana mixed in and some vanilla bean on the finish. For 11.9%, this beer drinks silky smooth and very balanced flavour-wise. This beer definitely surprised me, so if you're like me and not a big fan of coconut I still would highly recommend this beer if you can get your hands on it. Rhythm is the only semi regular DIPA in our rotation, typically brewed once per year, either right before or right after our anniversary. * Brewed for the first time back in 2020, this beer has evolved and in our opinion, improved through time with each iteration. For this batch, we stuck with the same dry hop combo of Galaxy and Citra and piled it on to deliver a juice filled wave of peach, orange, pineapple and passion fruit with some bitter grapefruit pith interwoven throughout. #8243 Counterpart x BreWskey x Sir John Zombie Party (Blueberry, Banana, Cacao, Vanilla, Cinnamon) (Canada) Saturday vibes, and this is one of the gems from Counterpart’s recent fifth anniversary. A smoothie sour in collaboration with the lords BreWskey and Sir John, it comes in at 5.5%, it rocks blueberries, banana, cacao, vanilla and cinnamon, it pours a deep purple with an intensely pink head, it’s hella thicc with every adjunct shining, the background is hella chocolatey with nuff blueberries and cinnamon, it’s juicy af, a touch sticky and sweet, tropical and smooth with a sweet, bountiful finish. Glorious.
