#8431 Third Moon x Wood Brothers Trespass (Canada) A drop from TM’s recent anniversary, this bad boy is a collab with Wood Brothers. Coming in at 6.5%, this IPA rocks YCH hand-selected Citra and Wood Bros-grown Chinook, it pours murky with a foamy head and a tropical nose, it’s dry and chalky with nuff hop burn, mango, peach, melon and a ton of herbal, chive vibes, it’s sticky and sweet with an overwhelming green note, it’s intense and tropical with a dry, chlorophyll finish. A touch heavy on the herbal/chive vibes for my taste but it’ll likely mellow in the coming weeks.

C3leste from Third Moon x 5e Baron is a 5.2% hazy pale ale brewed with Simcoe, Citra, and Azacca hops. Third Moon and 5e Baron share a birthday and I always look forward to their Bday collab. And this is a fantastically hoppy pale ale with lemon meringue fluffiness. Theres orange and melon for days. A soft body is the perfect canvas for all those hop flavours. It ends as soft as the sip and super dry. Fantastic!
#8427 Third Moon x Merritt Driven Nightmare on Merritt Drive (Canada) A slapper from a few weeks back, TM linked with the band Merritt Driven for this gem of an IPA with their hand-selected Mosaic and Sabro hops. Coming in at 6.5%, it pours murky with a fluffy head and a tropical nose, it’s creamy and chalky with some hop burn vibes, there’s coconut and mango alongside blueberries and peach, it’s smooth and silky, wrapping in a dry, dank citrusy finish. Killer.
#8422 Third Moon Bone Tree - DDH Fourth Anniversary (Canada) The next brew in TM’s anniversary drops is their annual DDH Bone Tree IPA, one of my fave beers of the year. As always, it’s 6.5% and rocks their hand-selected Citra and Citra Cryo, it’s murky af with a fluffy head and a tropical nose, it’s creamy and chalky with tons of juicy mango, pithy grapefruit and pineapple vibes, it’s got a touch of hop burn in there, super tropical with a nice sweetness, wrapping in a juicy, dry finish. Killer.
Trespass from Third Moon x Wood Brothers is a 6.5% hazy IPA brewed with Yakima Chief Citra and Wood Brothers grown Chinook. I was excited to be able to grab all 11 Third Moon 4th birthday releases, including that awesome glass! This poured phantasmagorically hazy under an Ottawa River sunset. The sip has dank OJ and peach for days. It’s soft, fluffy, and awesomely hoppy! A dry and chalky finish with a lingering juiciness caps off each amazing sip. So good!
#8415 Third Moon x 5e Baron C3leste (Canada) Finally getting into the Third Moon 4th anniversary drops and I’m kicking off with their annual QC birthday twin collab with the lords at 5e Baron. This year, they did a Pale Ale recipe swap - 5e did TM’s Rise and TM did 5e’s Celeste, and it slaps. Coming in at 5.2%, it rocks oats and is hopped with their hand-selected Simcoe and Citra from YCH and some Azacca, it pours hella murky with a fluffy head and a tropical nose, it’s thick, chalky and sticky with dank citrus, pineapple, and mango, there’s stone fruit and melon notes, it’s juicy and punchy for the ABV, wrapping in a dry, citrusy finish. Wicked take on one of my fave Pales.

2024 is the year of the terpene beer, and it rolls on with the @amf.beer side of the two-way 4/20 collab with @thirdmoonbeer, appropriately named Budz. Their version is a 6.5% IPA with Rakau, Motueka, and Pineapple Express Terpenes 💨 It pours bright and pale in colour with milky thick haze, and a nose of pineapple, orange zest, and sticky cannabis dankness. The palate matches with a pillowy, fluffy texture and a citrus tingle. Sweet, sticky orange peel, wicked dank weed, and sweet, acidic pineapple, all resting on a creamy body with a pithy bitter finish. This is phenomenal. With this and BB Kush, AMF have put out my favourite of the terpene beers I’ve tasted thus far! Left Hand Path from Third Moon is a 6.5% WCIPA brewed with Citra hops. This pours exactly how I like my westies - hazy! I love the fruitiness with the WC pine and rapturous resin coating your tongue. There’s tons of mixed citrus with tropical eddies on the sip. It finishes clean and dry with a touch of bitterness. Path well chosen!

Jake: I’ll go on record and say Nelson can be hit or miss for me. Not a huge fan of white wine-y notes in beer. This all-Nelson DIPA definitely has those but, you know what, I still really enjoyed this. Balance is 🔑 Aroma of grapefruit, white wine, passionfruit, and some light tropical notes. Barrel Aged From Underneath (Batch 2) from Third Moon is an 11.5% imperial chocolate porter that spent 12 months lurking in Basil Hayden bourbon barrels. The pour is dark with a small tan coloured head. The first sip-pression is of roasted malts with a bourbon soaked powdery cocoa. That initial smile-inducing sip is followed by the triple threat of coffee and vanilla and oak … oh my! It’s creamy and smooth with a touch of bourbon burn on the end. A decadent delight!

#8365 All My Friends x Third Moon Budz (Canada) The second part in a two-way terpene collaboration between PEC’s AMF and Milton’s TM, this is AMF’s version, boasting Motueka, Rakau and Pineapple Express terpenes. Coming in at 6.5%, it pours milky af with a frothy head and a huge dank pineapple nose, it’s stupid creamy and thicc with juicy mango, dank citrus and sticky pineapple vibes, the weed dominates in the sip but chills on the palate so it’s intense but not overwhelming, there’s some light, piney bitterness, grapefruit pith notes, with a dusty, dank, terpene finish. Spectacular. Someone on Untappd called it “bong water” and I love that term for terpene beers. Let’s make it a thing.

The best triple IPA I’ve ever had… Triple IPAs are always a good time, but can be hit or miss for me. Often I find them pretty boozy with some hop burn astringency. But I tell ya @thirdmoonbeer Triple Lines of Light is an absolute beauty of a triple! This 10.5% behemoth juice bomb features a triple threat of Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Mosiac hops. It’s the smoothest and juiciest triple IPA I’ve ever had with only a slight alcohol warmth in the finish. All My Buds IPA....On a scale from jello to cookies how good is this beer? We're going off scale and saying fudge brownie cupcakes. The #highly anticipated 4/20 weekend is now #upinsmoke and we had a blast #firingup all the festivities. Too much? 🙄 😝. Our first intro terpenes infused beer was a month ago with the @amf.beer BBKush IPA - which was fantastic and we mused that more breweries should get on the terpene train and let's see what happens. Fast forward to April 20 aka 420 and here we have @thirdmoonbeer x @amf.beer teaming up for a luscious and beautiful IPA brewed with New Zealand Riwaka and Motueka hops with King Louis XIII and Pine Express terpenes. The result is pretty much bonkers 🤯. Thicc (like the kids say) and luscious is the mouthfeel and explodes with tropical mango, pineapple, passionfruit that is enhanced by the terpenes adding an earthy pine funk and sweet pineapple skunk , a touch of mint and ends with a big danky punch ... this brew is next level. Again, not a weed guy, but this is everything we love from a New Zealand hopped beer and we're buying the #terpenetrend giving a next level pop to IPAs. #8355 Third Moon x 450 North Epoch Slushie (Banana Fluffernutter) (Canada) The legends at TM teamed up with the OGs from IN’s 450 North for this gem of a smoothie with banana, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Good lord. Coming in at 5%, it pours like a banana smoothie with a huge peanut nose and a creamy body, it’s tart and tangy with tons of banana and vanilla alongside heavy peanut vibes, it’s juicy and smooth, silky and intense with a sweet, sticky finish. Bomb.
#8354 Third Moon The Enemies I’ve Earned (2024) (Canada) Double IPA time, and this is a freshie from the lords at Third Moon. Coming in at 8%, it rocks Strata, Mosaic, Galaxy and Cashmere, it pours super murky with a fluffy head and a dank, citrusy nose, it’s super thick and sweet up front, tons of stone fruit, papaya, stewed mango and pineapple, it’s pithy with pink grapefruit notes, it’s still a little green, it’s juicy and intense with a dusty, tropical finish. Spectacular.

A special beer brewed just for today from the lords at Third Moon and AMF, this is an IPA with Riwaka and Motueka from Freestyle, along with King Louie XIII and Pineapple Express terpenes - woooo! Coming in at 6.5%, it pours so thicc with a fluffy head and a dank, tropical nose, it’s dumb creamy with the dank terps dominating alongside mango, pineapple and citrus vibes, the body is legit insane, it’s juicy af, kinda drinks like a mellow liquid weed, pithy grapefruit notes, wrapping in a crazy dank, tropical finish. Prolly top 3 fave TM beers ever. Incredible stuff.
Ok I admit it, I'm a shameless fanboy when it comes to Third Moon Brewing. I've had a grand total of 9 beers from the Milton, Ontario brewery and they can do no wrong in my book as all of them have been excellent. Needless to say I was happy to see two offerings from them in the assortment that @nexrog recently sent to me and I'm wasting no time cracking into one of them. Passing Shadows is an 8% DIPA containing Riwanka, Citra and Mosaic hops....and of course it features the amazingly dark, atmospheric can art that is a trademark of Third Moon beers. Time to indulge! The pour is hazy and super juicy looking - light orangey-yellow with a solid two finger head. Scent is tropical, citrusy and tantalizingly dank and weedy...today is 4/20 so that's pretty appropriate! There is some prickly effervescence from the get-go and the medium bodied liquid is fairly smooth throughout the sip although not quite as soft and creamy as some other Third Moon brews I've had. Flavour is citrusy and juicy up front with a tropical sweetness mixed in and I'm getting a decent amount of kiwi around mid-sip. The finish offers a dank piney, citrus peel bitterness and a bit of a spicy/peppery aspect as it winds up dry with that bitterness lingering. Delicious....need I say more!? 4.25 stars @thirdmoonbeer

I'm hit with coconut and chocolate on the nose. I'm getting the mentioned flavours on the palate along with some coffee notes here. Creamy and some sweetness from the oatmeal. A stout for all seasons since it's a rainy day today. This is the only good thing I'm having today as this Leafs playoff game is brutal to watch.

While I’m generally not much of a cannabis guy, I am loving the latest trend of putting terpenes in beer, so that means I’ve got the perfect beer for the occasion, thanks to @getitinyacee providing the link from @durandbarandbottleshop! All My Budz from @thirdmoonbeer in collaboration with @amf.beer is a 6.5% IPA hopped with Riwaka and Motueka, and added King Louie XIII and Pineapple Express terpenes. It pours gorgeously thick and hazy with a hugely tropical mango and pineapple nose. Immediately the palate delivers tingly acidic pineapple, tangerine and lime zest, punchy ruby red grapefruit, passion fruit and mango with a bit of a peppery pop. It’s got a full but delightfully frothy body. The terpenes accentuate the bold tropical fruit flavours while adding only a subtle dankness. Delightful.
