Women’s Fundamentals yesterday was a blast! We had an awesome group of women with varying knowledge and skill level as well as stage of life. One thing was very apparent they all recognized the state of the world and where they live and they no longer feel comfortable. That feeling led them to our class because they want to know and feel comfortable and confident with their firearm. The laughs, encouragement and championing to one another is why we do this. We are building a community and to see it in action is such a blessing. So proud of all the women stepping out of their comfort zones and conquering something that was intimidating. Many of the ladies had never shot a firearm and to see how they took the fundamentals and applied it on the range was so inspiring to watch. You are all capable and now you can build on your confidence and training. Two weeks ago, our kids were able to experience a realtime emergency and got to see how different individuals respond. While out eating a lady at a neighboring booth began choking. I alerted my husband who was seated closest and he immediately stood up and went over to assist. In between him and two employees taking turns giving this woman the hymlic the lodged meat was finally dislodged. It was honestly pretty intense to watch not just for me but our three kids as well. The sound, her turning purple and the relief from everyone once she could finally breathe again. Some takeaways afterward that we talked through with our kids. •This lady would have died if everyone had waited for 9-1-1 responders •It is important the type of man you choose More than likely you will be the first and possibly only responder in an emergency- train accordingly. This weighs heavy on me too as I feel the pressure to be more trained and equipped for my family. Situational awareness is important not just for your safety but others as well. This might sound harsh but the lady was eating with a man and during this life threatening event he never got up out of the booth to assist her.
