URKC FINAL RESULTS 2023 We started the sprint URKC to encourage new and seasoned racers to come together and learn and develop whilst racing in a competitive environment. The sprint was a huge success and sold out instantly! Just realised I forgot to post that at round 1 Super Champs Season 2 I received an invite to the @daytonamsport @sodikart.official Race of Champions next year for winning Super Champs Season 1!!! It was a target of mine to secure an invite to the next DROC after being forced to turn down my invite to the first one for financial reasons. My target is to win the Sodi class & become Daytona Sodi Champion of Champions as it is now the only Daytona Sodi title I still haven’t won yet. (Unless you count equivalent league titles at the other 2 Daytona circuits, never say never for that either) Budget allowing I plan to enter an MK Super Champs round (assuming MK is hosting again) towards the back end of this year if there is one that doesn’t clash with Sandown as part of my training for the Race of Champions & to prove I can win Super Champs anywhere, not just at Sandown. 10 @daytonamsport @sodikart.official Super Champs wins in a row!!! Also 7 wins in a row & 11 podiums in a row overall & my 100th podium in a Sodi Kart. It was the new for Season 2 D40 format on the GP Alternate layout today, 10 minutes of untimed practice followed by 1 single qualifying lap, 1 mistake will ruin your qualifying so pressure on, followed by a non-stop 40 minute race. A longer than usual race for Super Champs plus it being the hottest day of the year so far made for an interesting challenge, in one-shot qualifying I qualified class pole & 4th overall to take my first pole of Season 2 & my 99th pole overall. It was a tight race with a photo finish but I held on at the end! King's Ely Prep pupil and karting enthusiast, Chloe, is celebrating passing the @jamiechadwick Racing Series Race School! 🏎 Chloe, who is in Year 5, took part in the exciting initiative at @daytonamsport in Milton Keynes during the Easter Holidays. Daytona Motorsport has partnered with three-time W-Series Champion, Jamie Chadwick, to launch the Race School, in a bid to increase female participation in the sport. With only 13% of karting participants being female, the initiative aims to create clearer pathways for girls and young women to pursue their passion for racing. Chloe, who discovered her love of karting last year, said: "We started the day by meeting Jamie, and we completed a walk of the track with her. She explained important parts of the track and talked about her experiences in motorsports. "Next, there were sessions on mental preparation and media focus, with a Q&A opportunity with Jamie and also Amber Jones, who is a motorsport presenter. After this, we completed a practice session on the track to help us understand the corners and racing line. After lunch, the track sessions focused on overtaking and defending, followed by a qualifying session and then the final race. "Having completed the day, I received my certificates stating that I had passed the Race School, and I was excited to learn that I am one of only a small number of girls who is eligible to take part in the INKART Championships. I really enjoyed taking part in the Race School. It was a fantastic opportunity to improve my karting skills, and to meet inspirational people and other girls who share the same interest in karting as me." P3 in the C final at GYG🫥 After some tough time getting to know the track, I was really off the pace but when it came to quali I managed to get some slipstream getting me P15 in group (P6 in pre-C final.) In the pre-C I made up 3 positions on the start, putting me in p3 but sadly I was still learning the track so I dropped down to p5, then I tried to re-overtake p5 but I got squeezed onto a curb, loosing some of time. I started P3 for the C final, making a mega start , I got up to P1 on the start and stayed there for around five minutes until p3 and p2 started working together, making me a sitting duck 🦆 a lap later both p2 and p3 bump n’ passed me 😠 I ended up finishing p3. Race report 🏁. Last weekend I was at @gygkarting for @club100racing heavy weight sprints, this was my first time back at this track in 5 years so a steep learning curve to learn the kart and the track. Heat 1 17th ⬆️ 8th showing some strong pace from the start with some nice overtakes through spoon and devils elbow. Heat 2 15th ⬆️ 9th showing good pace again and battling with some fast c2 drivers just ment I missed out on 8th. Heat 3 15th ⬆️ 8th This was a really fun race I got up two places due to people spinning at T1 but due to my error I lost them places at the end setteling for 8th. B final 10th ⬇️ DQ Really unfortunately race I got caught in a fight and got a ABC penalty for it causing me to allready drop 4 positions then I got another one because a driver cut across the grass and rejoined in front of me and I hit there bumper causing another ABC. Overall it was a good day I have some things to adapt and learn from before the next round. On Sunday afternoon I went to @daytonamsport Sandown Park for a DMAX practice session as training for the upcoming Daytona Milton Keynes 24 Hour next month. (Unfortunately no on track photos or videos this time) It was a stressful start as while driving to the track, the road leading to the circuit was being closed off for a scout parade, I was already running late so I made the decision to jump out & run to the track, carrying a helmet, neck collar & rib protector as I went, after completing what I have called the “Sandown mini-marathon” (Due to the London Marathon taking place on the same day 😂) I thankfully still made it to sign in on time. After a drink & sitting through the Martin Brundle briefing video which I can quote word for word, it was time to get on track, this session was my first time in a DMAX since last summer & my first time trying them with the new performance upgrades. (For my overseas followers who may be unaware, DMAX is a high performance 125cc Rotax 2-stroke rental kart using a Birel ART N-35 X chassis, in terms of performance they are close as rental Karting gets to owner/driver Karting) After pacing myself I gained speed throughout the session to end up P2 with a 46.476, only beaten by Tom Brown who is one of the top DMAX drivers at Sandown & has previously won DMAX Lightweight Super Champs.
