I’ve used this color combo a few times and I have never had this much blue come to the surface. So interesting how tie dye can be done in the same way each time but then different results manifest. . This dye is up for grabs but it does have small hole where the body and sleeve meet. Message me if you want a discounted reverse dye. This baby will be sold as is to anyone interested. $50 (normally $65) Adult Large. . Colors used: all @dharmatradingco colors - flamingo fantasy, peach, bazooka pink, hot hibiscus, dragon fruit, powerberry, nightshade, jade green, alpine blue, and glacier blue. I tied this in 3 - 15° fan folds and scrunched the middle section. Each fan fold was tied with a honeycomb tie. I used OWB to reverse the shirt and let it soak in the hot, hot water for 15 minutes before washing/rinsing out the OWB. I washed this on a delicate cycle in a garment bag with synthrapol and then boiled it one last time in clean water to remove all the loose dye. This dried out completely before dyeing. I dyed this in two rounds in a rack. The first side was dyed DUI with pinks, purples, and oranges with a liberal sprinkle of soda ash over the ice. After the ice melted, I flipped the shirt and dyed the backside with blues and jade DUI with a sprinkle of soda ash over the ice. Grateful Dead ~ Sunday, April 30, 1989 ~ Irvine Meadows, California… after three days of Grateful Dead land, having the time of our lives, little did we know of the ordeal that lay ahead on our way back to the Old Pueblo… but first we stopped in Los Angeles at a ceramic supply warehouse for Mike to pick up more clay for drums.. then we headed down the dreaded Interstate 8. When we left Tucson we took Interstate 10.. easy peasy lemon squeezy… but Mike, Max and Denny wanted to stop off at some hot springs near the Salton Sea, so it would be quicker to take I-8… but that meant driving thru Yuma. Now any ragamuffin dead head from Tucson knows to avoid Yuma like the plague! Ah, but the allure of hot springs after a Grateful Dead concert… silly hippies… As far as hot springs.. not the best.. as we left the hot springs, it was late afternoon.. that’s when we got pulled over by the Border Patrol. We were prepared, but still, a van full of smelly hippies. Janis had lit a sage smudge, so the van smelled of sage. She told the Border Patrol agent that it cleared the negativity.. and they let us go.. but unbeknownst to us, they called the Border Patrol station at Yuma, and they were waiting for us. Yea, I know, we never left the states, but you still have to drive thru a checkpoint on I-8 when you enter Arizona, that’s why Michele and I voted to avoid this route. They immediately told us to pull over and get out of the van! We sat crossed legged on the warm concrete. Then they brought out the dog… poor dog, he immediately went into active alert on just about everything in the van.. but they found nothing! We honestly told them we had been at the Grateful Dead concerts.. and of course we smelled, we had been at the show! Grateful Dead ~ Friday, April 28, 1989 ~ Irvine Meadows, California… I can’t find my ticket for this one. Michele and I drove to Irvine in Mike Arnold’s van. Mike made beautiful doumbek drums on the wheel.. I had my trusty necklaces and a few batiks. We left Tucson. Max and this tour head named Running Cloud, were also with us… it’s about an 8 hour drive across the desert.. we made it to Irvine… They actually allowed vendors here, $25 a vehicle. Done deal. Grateful Dead ~ Saturday, April 29, 1989 ~ Irvine Meadows, California… we drove from Tucson with my good friend Mike Arnold, drum maker… Max was still with us, but the night before, Running Cloud left our van and that was the last time we saw him… Denny and Janis joined our crew.. they would ride with us back to Tucson… Denny and Max had both been down in Guetamala.. after last nights show, and spending the night in an Orange grove.. Michele and I spent the day selling necklaces and batiks. Wondering around Grateful Dead land was always a joy. The lot charged us $25 to vend.. per vehicle.. Mike and I split that.. sold most of necklaces and a few batiks. Show was fantastic!
