SPOT_서초구립방배숲환경도서관 @bbslib _공간의 가장 눈에 띄는 점은 도서관의 중앙에 크게 위치한 중정이다. 원형으로 크게 뚫려 있는 중정 외부 공간에 띄엄띄엄 놓여진 벤치에서 책을 읽을 수도 있고, 도서관 내부에 중정을 따라 마련된 자리에 앉아 밖을 바라보며 작업을 할 수도 있었다. 환경도서관이라는 컨셉에 맞게, 녹색과 흰색으로 이루어진 서가에서 통일성도 느껴졌다. _2층에는 작은 숲, 트인 숲으로 불리는 회의실과 직원 사무실이 위치해 있다. 독서가 방문 목적이라면 2층에 갈 이유는 없겠지만, 위에서 1층의 구조물 배치나 이용객의 모습을 한눈에 볼 수 있기 때문에 한 번쯤 올라갈 만한 이유는 있을 것 같다. 디자인스팟 8기_박서현 장하연 #서초구립방배숲환경도서관 서울 서초구 서초대로 160-7
SPOT_이로 _해태의 정원을 컨셉으로 한 서초의 카페다. 동아시아 상상의 동물 해태를 모티프로 한 만큼 한국적인 분위기가 많이 느껴졌다. 특히 지하층은 어두운공간에 천장에는 큰 조명을 두고, 물이 떨어지도록하여 옛날 신화에서 나오는 동굴이 연상될 정도였다. 오른쪽으로 문을 열고 나가면 인공폭포에서 물이 떨어지는 것을 감상할 수 있는데, 이 점도 아주 독특했다. 위 정원에서 볼 수 있는 크리스탈 구체모양의 조형물이나 지하층에서 볼 수 있는 업경 등의 작품으로 카페보다는 전시관의 느낌이 나기도 했다. _특히 정원이나 폭포를 놓기 위해서는 그만큼의 이용객 자리가 줄어드는 나름의 손실을 예상했을 텐데, 그걸 감수하고서라도 유니크한 요소를 배치한 점에서 요즘의 카페 인테리어 트렌드를 체감할 수 있었다. 디자인스팟 8기_최예담 장하연 #이로 서울 서초구 반포대로30길 32 1층, 지하 1층

SPOT_아트선재센터 @artsonje_center <리너스 반 데 벨데; 나는 욕조에서 망고를 먹고 싶다> <댄 리; 상실의 서른 여섯 달> _발데는 허구(공상)의 것을 그렸다고 한다. 그런데 목탄화를 그리기 위해 그림과 같은 세트장을 설치하고 보고 그렸다고 하셨다. 그렇다면 드는 의문점 이것은 공상을 그린걸까 현실을 그린걸까. _각 층의 마지막 작품은 유화로 마무리한다. 이 전시의 제목인 ‘나는 욕조에서 망고를 먹고 싶다‘가 이 작품에 적혀있는 글귀에서 가져왔다고 한다. 전시의 시작과 끝 글귀 같음, 수미상관, 오늘과 일상, 삶과 죽음 반복. 즉, 작품의 모든 주제를 관통하는 ‘순환’을 나타내고자 했던게 아니었나 싶다. _공상은 강력한 도구이며 우리 현실을 통찰할 수 있게 도와주는 것이라는 작가의 말이 가장 인상깊었다. 평소에 터무니없는 생각을 종종 하기도 하는데 이따금 씁쓸해진 경험을 한 두번 한 게 아니다. 하지만 작가는 이를 예술적으로 승화시켰다는 점이 놀라워 나도 한 번 시도해보고 싶다는 생각이 들었다. _평소 그로테스크한 작품을 좋아하기도 하지만, 핸드빌딩으로 제작된 세라믹 작품이라는 점과 작가의 세계관을 작은 세상으로 구현했다는 점, 그리고 육체가 잘리고 구멍이 뚫리는 징그러운 장면들을 ‘새로운 인간 종자를 만들기 위한 공장’이라는 유토피아적 관점에서 바라보았다는 점이 흥미로웠다. 디자인스팟 8기_최현준 이유경 김민서 #종로아트선재센터 서울 종로구 율곡로3길 87
SPOT_서울교육박물관 _입구에 들어서자마자 정독문방구를 재현해 놓은 전시물이 보여 옛 분위기를 느낄 수 있었다. 입구를 기준으로 오른쪽에서는 호국보훈의 달을 맞아 김호 애국지사의 독립을 위한 노력과 활약 등에 대한 특별전을 전개하고 있었다. 독립운동가에 관한 것이다 보니 다소 진중한 전시일 것이라 생각했는데, 레고나 캐리커쳐, 팝한 컬러감을 활용해 친근하고 키치한 무드로 전시되고 있음이 반전으로 느껴져 좋았다. _상설전시 중에서는 애니메이션 검정고무신에서 본 것만 같은 교실 공간이 정말 귀엽고 정겨웠다. 그리고 평소에 접해 볼 수 없었던 1950-70년대 교복이나 교과서, 문구류들을 볼 수 있어서 좋았다. 특히 그 시절 아이들이 가지고 놀던 장난감들이 시민들의 기증으로 옛 모습 그대로 전시되어 있었는데, 얼핏 보이는 세월의 흔적들이 인상적이었다. 디자인스팟 8기_박서현 #서울교육박물관 서울 종로구 북촌로5길 48

SPOT_송은 @songeun_official <카덴짜; 조영주 개인전> _영상 퍼포먼스가 주된 전시였다. 뭔가를 기다리는 듯한 초조한 배우들의 표정으로 채우는 퍼포먼스, 오열하고 주저앉고 삿대질하는 미장센, 음악을 몸으로 표현하는 부분 등 다양한 작품을 접할 수 있었다. 작가의 의도를 해석하며 각자 자유롭게 관람하였고 또한 배우들에게 압도되어 감정을 고스란히 느낄 수 있었던 몰입도 높은 전시였다. _오로지 중앙 콘크리트 홀에 비춰지는 자연광으로만 지하 2층 내부를 밝히는 모습과, 2층에서 홀을 따라 이어지는 계단을 이동하며 내외부를 잇는 결합부의 단면이 연속적으로 통창과 함께 이어지며 더 넓은 공간감을 연출하는 부분이 인상적이었다. _<나의 몸을 쓰는 것>은 2016년 아이를 출산한 작가가 아이의 배변, 수면 , 수유 등을 기호화해 작성한 육아 일지다. 수십 개월간 이어지는 선 위에 기록된 아이의 생리적 패턴을 반복적이면서도 예측할 수 없는 독특한 리듬감으로 해석한 후 이를 음으로 변환해 소나타 형식의 곡으로 만들고 안무를 더해 '작가의 신체 감각'을 시청각화 한 작품이다. _'작가'가 가지는 직업성에 대해 다시 한번 생각할 수 있었다. 너무 일상적인 소재라고 생각하여서 누군가는 그냥 지나칠 수 있었던 순간을 감각화하여 세상에 보여주는 조영주 작가의 작업물을 통해 일상의 기록이라는 중요함을 다시금 깨닫게 되었다. 디자인스팟 8기_안지민 최연정 #송은 서울 강남구 도산대로 441

Lime electronic inversion table_ design language 이 제품의 주된 인상은 옆 판의 모양에 의해 결정될 것이라고 생각했습니다. 그래서 electronic inversion table의 필수 요소인 모터를 강조할 수 있는 디자인을 생각했습니다. 공에 의해 변형되는 부드러운 사각형의 판 모양을 이 제품의 비주얼로 정했고 그것을 기반으로 제품을 이루는 여러 구성요소와 디테일을 일관되게 디자인하려 노력했습니다. We thought the main impression of this product would be determined by the shape of the side plate. So we studied a design language that can emphasize the motor, which is an essential element of the electronic inversion table. We defined the soft square plate shape that is deformed by the ball as the core visual of this product. Based on this, we studied the consistent design to be applied to the different components and details that make up the product.

SPOT_마하 한남 @maha.hannam _세련되고 고급진 내부공간의 이미지와 반대로 동네는 꽤나 허름하고, 언덕에 위치해있어 이동이 힘들다. 하지만 이 모든것에 건축가의 의도가 깃들어있다. _전체적으로 원목으로 마감된 내부 인테리어 덕분에 편안하고, 카멜톤 가구가 곳곳에 놓여있어 고급지고 따뜻한 스튜디오의 느낌이 강하게 든다. 과거에 이 공간은 목욕탕으로 운영되었다고 하는데, 1층 입구와, 바닥 타일에서 과거 공간을 떠올려 볼 수도 있었다. _내부 통창과 야외 테라스를 통해 바라본 독특한 한강뷰… 뾰족뾰족한 송전탑과 멀리 보이는 푸른 한강. 이런 한강뷰는 처음인데 나름 좋았다. 쉼을 위한 공간, 감각적인 공간, 고즈넉함과 따뜻함이 느껴지던 공간이었다. _옛 가정집의 구조가 그대로 느껴져 집의 아늑한 느낌이 든다. 건축가의 서재라는 컨셉에 맞게 곳곳에 모형과 재료들, 건축서적들이 위치하고 있다. 인테리어가 깔끔하고 감각적이라 이런 작은 부분 하나하나 들여다보는 재미가 있다. 디자인스팟 8기_김규빈 박무영 #마하한남 서울 용산구 서빙고로91나길 85 4층
SPOT_gml @gml_seoul _원형계단이 가장 눈에 띄었는데 원형계단 공간의 천장창과 벽의 뚫려있는곳으로 채광이 들어오는것이 은은한 미감을 주었다. 건물은 좁은 대지에 원형계단과 같은 눈에 띄는 요소를 넣은 점이 좋았다. 좁아서 다소 답답하던 내부 공간이었기에 테라스를 빼고 오히려 내부를 개방감 있게 처리했으면 어떨까하는 생각도 했다. _내부 공간은 전체적으로 회색이 많이 사용된 시크하고 세련된 느낌이었다. 벽이나 테이블처럼 매스가 큰 부분에는 메탈이 사용됐지만, 의자나 선반에는 우드 텍스처가 돋보이는 재료가 사용돼서 이 합이 마냥 차갑지만은 않은 느낌이었다. _곡선과 직선, 원, 삼각형, 사각형이 절묘하게 조화된 외관은 일반적인 주택과 유명 건축물의 느낌을 동시에 주었다.이 카페의 주요 인테리어 특징이었던 우드와 메탈의 조합은 ‘현대의 따뜻함’이라는 독특한 느낌을 주었다. _더 퍼스트 펭귄이라는 인테리어 업체의 손길 아래 탄생한 덕인지 절제되었으면서도 분명히 디테일이 제대로 기능하는 테이블과 의자가 많았다. 테라스의 용산 시내 뷰도 시원하고, 커피 매니아에게는 원두 쇼핑도 같이 할 수 있다는 것이 충분히 장점으로 기능하겠다. 디자인스팟 8기_이정서 장하연 박수연 최준섭 #gmlcoffee 서울 용산구 한남대로27가길 22 3층

SAL 22-23 | Floor lamp Introducing Sal 22-23: my suggestion for the international contest “Eterna bellezza”, launched by YACdesign (@youngarchitectscompetitions ) in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Cairo and the Cairo Design Week (@cairo.design.week ). The competition required projects of furniture that interpreted the concept of eternity as a trait-d’union of Italian and Egyptian culture. SPOT_서소문성지역사박물관 @ssmshrine _처음 박물관 입구로 내려가면서 박물관을 목적으로 만든 건물 같지 않다는 느낌이 있었는데, 찾아보니 지하주차장을 일부 이용하여 만든 건물이었다. _동(bronze)을 이용한 작품들이 입구부터 전시되어 있었고, 작품을 자세히 관찰하면 밧줄의 결처럼 섬세한 작업도 이루어졌음을 알 수 있다. _엇갈리는 벽들의 관계들. 겹쳐지고 틈새사이로 나오는 빛들과 어둠들. 동선에 따라 느껴지는 어둠들을 다양하게 느낄 수 있었다. 머리가 닿을정도의 낮게 떠있는 벽체사이로 들어가는 전이 공간, 끝도 없이 높게 쌓여진 적벽돌들로 둘러쌓여서 맞이하는 위압감과 해방감 따위를 느꼈다. _천장의 경우 와플 슬래브 같지만 슬래브와 따로 만든 천장이며 층마다 재료가 다르고 크기도 다르다. 예시로 지하 1층은 주로 목재로 만들어져 있고 유닛의 크기 자체가 작은데 지하 3층의 것은 주로 철이 쓰이고 크기도 좀 더 크다. _특히 지하 3층 하늘광장의 보이드 공간은 단번에 압도당할 만큼 크고 높으며 정적인 공간이었는데, 그곳에서 하늘을 올려다 보기도 하고 조형물 사이를 걸으며 조용히 부는 바람을 맞고 있으니 엄숙해지는 기분이 들었다. 디자인스팟 8기_서정호 김민서 채준형 크리스티나 박서현 #서소문성지역사박물관 서울 중구 칠패로 5
