On World Water Day, Alteo reaffirms its dedication to responsible water management. Using innovative technology like ferti-irrigation stations for our tomato cultivation, we minimise environmental impact. Ferti-irrigation is the practice of applying fertiliser to crops via an irrigation system, with water and fertiliser being delivered simultaneously through automated watering. Advantages over traditional methods include: ▪ Control over water usage and daily mix preparation ▪ 44% saving in water and fertiliser at Island Basket Ltd ▪ Reduced pressure on local water reserves ▪ Recycling of drainage water, preventing contamination of watercourses and groundwater.
