Hey everyone, it looks like it’s going to be nearly perfect weather for a race this Saturday 🌞🌞🌞 Just a few final notes about race day to share. We ask that all cars are parked on the right hand side of Myra Road when facing out the road. Please try to park off the asphalt if possible. This is for everyone’s safety. Please allow yourself lots of time to travel and get checked in. We will be starting the race at 9am. There will be two portable toilets in the trail head parking lot for the race. We need all racers to ensure their bib is pinned on the front of them and visible. This race is not chip timed, if our timer can’t see your bib easily you risk not getting a time. We will do our best to have complete results posted Saturday evening. These will be available on our website. We expect to be in the parking lot until about 2pm. We encourage everyone to bring some warm clothes and stick around after the race for a beverage and snack. Thinking of toeing the start line for the 2024 Callous Crow trail race? This race will take you on just about the entirety of the Crowbar Lake Wilderness Trail system in Porter’s Lake. At nearly 21km in length we like to call this the toughest half marathon in these parts. You will be challenged by a rugged yet well maintained route offering spectacular hilltop views as you climb and descend roughly 700m. Who’s up for the toughest 21km race around these parts? We’re beyond excited to have been invited back to the Crowbar Lake Wilderness Trails for the 2nd edition of The Callous Crow. The Crowbar Lake Wilderness Association worked hard to get a new bridge installed before the snow came arrived. Our plan is to open registration Friday, Feb 16th at 6pm. There are only 100 spots for this one. If history repeats itself there’s a good chance it’ll sell out fast. It was a blast last year and should only be more fun this time around. We’re getting fired up for a race this weekend! McIntosh 10k is a bit special to us since it was our very first location for a race. It’s just about time to open registration for the 2024 edition of The Pick & Shovel Showdown. The event will take place in Waverley, January 27th starting at noon. This one was an absolute blast last year despite the monsoon🌧️. We can’t promise we’ll get puddle splashing weather in January again BUT we can promise a whole lot of fun! Spaces are limited to 100 spots for the 10K + 8hr endurance event and 50 spots for those who only want to run the 10K event. We’ll have a ton of prizes up for grabs, lots of hot food, and a nice cozy place to rest between laps. We’re using Route 541’s registration platform this time around. It’s been a large weekend for AO Trail Racing. We are beyond humbled by the support and interest in our events. We held a race, sold out the next one in 24hrs, and hit 1000 followers on our Instagram page! We had an absolute blast at Musquodoboit Mayhem yesterday. Seeing those smiles and people pushing their limits makes this venture very rewarding. We can never thank our volunteers enough.
