I have discovered Neurographic art! If you don't know what that is, a Google search will provide a better explanation than I can. I found it very interesting and calming. The first one I did, I used lots of colors to fill in all the shapes which, coincidentally, made it look like a collection of coloured stones or sea glass. The second one I did with my granddaughters. After I drew the lines, the girls started seeing people and other things within the shapes so I decided to create a scene, painting the shapes as what they looked like to me. I am calling it "Dancing in the Neurographic Garden" Really enjoyed doing these. Wochenrückblick KW17: Der Norden von Nova Scotia Unsere Woche startete direkt mit einem Naturspektakel. In der Bay of Fundy kann man die Gezeiten so eindrucksvoll erleben, dass man innerhalb von 6 Stunden Unterschiede zwischen Ebbe und Flur von bis zu 16 Metern erleben kann. Für uns hieß das am Burntcoat Head genau das mit eigenen Augen erleben - vom Spaziergang auf dem Meeresboden bis zur Flut einige Stunden später. Anschließend ging es für uns nach Cape Breton Island. Eine wahnsinns Küstenlinie, unzählige Wanderwege und der bekannte Cabot Trail erwarteten uns. Wir gingen Wanderwege von 200 Metern bis 9 Kilometern Länge, mal steil bergauf, mal im Schnee. Immer mit viel zu entdecken, nur leider ließen sich bisher keine Elche blicken. Auch sonst ist weiterhin nicht viel los hier, was dafür sorgt, dass wir die schönsten Übernachtungsplätze für uns haben. 1) Burntcoat Head bei unserem Spaziergang auf dem Meeresboden 2) Burntcoat Head bei Flut 3) Spaziergang am Pomquet Beach bei Regen 4) 500 Meter Wanderrundweg durch Schnee im Cape Breton Nationalpark 5) Kleiner Motivationsschub am Theodor Fricker Mountain Trail 6) Ausblick vom Gipfel nach dem steilen Aufstieg dort 7) Unser erster Drohnenflug an der Meat Cove (wer findet uns?) 8) Einer von vielen Lookouts auf dem Cabot Trail auf die Küstenlinie von Cape Breton Island 9) Unser Stellplatz bei Big Spruce Brewing, wo es nicht nur leckeres Bier sondern auch tolle Gespräche zur Panamericana gab Heute geht's für uns auf die Fähre nach Neufundland. ICCA is excited to announce this seasons reopening with the announcement of our first 2024 exhibit - the Youth Art Exhibit. The show will include work submitted by young artists from across Inverness County. To bring this exhibit together, members of the ICCA programming committee reached out to schools across the county, inviting students from all grades to participate. A wide range of work will be featured, and it will be a special chance for students to see their work professionally exhibited in a gallery space. The opening reception will be held May 5th, from 2-4pm. The show will run from May 5th - May 25th. Gallery hours are Tuesday - Sunday from 12-5pm.
