I have been working on a lot of Mexican style art projects lately. I have a special order for 12 rocks done in Mexican style art. Because I have been doing that I have had a desire to color Mexican style art as well. I have a few coloring books that are specifically Mexican style art so am working in those mostly. I can't wait to color my first page in my Frida Kahlo coloring book. I love being able to use such bright colors. It allows me to go crazy. Take my imagination to places I may not have pushed it before. My love for using black is never far away though. Every picture needs a little black just to make it POP. I'm also working on a picture of Quetzalcoatl right now. I am hoping to share that with you in a few days. I'm only coloring @ night because I have so much painting to do & the seizures have been pretty bad lately. I don't like working on my art projects when I am seizing a lot because I don't want to be half done with something & then mess up because I had a seizure. Welcome Yadnee Kohok, our featured artist showing a solo collection, "Twisted Tales", in tandem with our Blossom show starting Friday, April 5th. Twisted Tales is a collection of wire sculptures inspired by Mexican Calaveras. It was during a Halloween event at work that Yadnee first learned about El Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead. This was before the release of Pixar’s Coco. While Yadnee was already familiar with Indian rituals that honor ancestors, they are solemn affairs. In contrast, El Día de los Muertos celebrates ancestors with a cheerful explosion of colors. This celebration inspired Yadnee to create these wire sculptures, and she hopes they bring you as much joy as they brought her. Come check out this collection on display April 5th-21st. ・ 小菅かおりさん主宰のドラマシアター、 @dramatheatretoyo 3/28の公演を拝見致しました。 演目は「反復かつ連続」、「あゆみ」。 ※現地で何も撮影しなかったので、先日カナデアンで撮らせて頂いた画像で💦 「反復かつ連続」、「あゆみ」ともに、フリーのシナリオがネット上で読めたので、ザッと読んでみた。しかし全くわからん…同じような展開が繰り返されることのみ認識。ドラマシアターのインスタの投稿で、音楽がカノンなのでやはり恐らくそうなのだろう、と。 会場は穂の国とよはし芸術劇場PLAT、創造活動室A。結構広い。床がそのまま舞台で、客席は2方向に設けられている。これは面白い。演者は正面だけから見られるのではないのだ。でもどこか親しみのある光景だと感じた。そうだ、プロレスだ!後楽園ホールに来たような、懐かしい感覚。 ブックカップ @bookcup103 の加藤さんがいらしたので、隣に座らせてもらう。 公演が始まった。演者の声が会場に響く、聴き取りやすい。シナリオの内容を思い出して観るが、実際の演技は随分印象が違う。文章だとベタっと読んでしまうけど、生身の演技は熱量や感情が伝わってくる。 「反復かつ連続」、「あゆみ」ともにほぼ3人での演技なので、若い演者は出ずっぱり。劇が進むに連れ、次第次第に惹き込まれてゆく感覚。演者の衣装は白で統一されていたが、ラストシーンでは更に黒い床に白い紙が敷かれ、とても映えていた。 公演は面白かった。しかし何が面白いのか?すぐに理解出来ない。観劇中、惹き込まれつつもこれはいったい何を表しているのだろうと、足らない頭で考えた。シナリオの内容には家族や友人、死が表されている。同じシーンの役を演者が入れ替わりつつ進行する劇。ああ、繰り返される問いなのかもな、と感じた。長い人生の、そのあらゆる場面で何度も繰り返される問い。決して答えの出ない、時によって対応も変わるような玉虫色の問い。そんなことを感じた。 恐らく正鵠を射てはいないだろう(その正鵠があるのかも不明)けど、当たらずとも遠からずかもしれない。結局解らなかったことは多いが、普遍性のようなものが残る。心に沈殿するかも。そして演劇とはこういうものかと、僅かな一端に触れただけではあるけれども感じた次第。色んな人や物事と出会える、生きている実感のある人生はオモシロイ。纏まりのない感想だけど、そんな想いを抱いた夜でした。 #資本主義不適応 #コーヒーハジユウ #遊んで暮らしたい #カナデアンコーヒーハウス #ヨルノコーヒーハウス #死者の日 #eldiadelosmuertos #メキシコ #mexico

Impossible de faire entrer en 10 cases seulement tous les superbes moments partagés avec vous lors de cette première journée de fresque participative sur le parvis des @leschampslibres @museedebretagne 🧡 Un très grand merci à toutes les personnes qui sont venues écrire sur la Calavera les prénoms de personnes qui leurs sont chères (disparues ou bien vivantes) ainsi que commencer sa mise en couleurs.. 🙏😉🎉 Cette fresque fait référence aux Calaveritas de azucar (crânes en sucre) que l'on dépose sur les autels dédiés aux défunts pendant les festivités d'el Dia de los Muertos au Mexique . Sur leurs fronts sont inscrits les prénoms des personnes auxquelles elles sont dédiées mais on se les offre également entre vivants. Si vous recevez une Calaverita avec votre prénom inscrit dessus, ce n'est pas un funeste présage bien au contraire, c'est une preuve d'amour/d'amitié. De cette manière on vous réserve une place dans le monde d'après, le plus tard possible bien sûr.. 😉 Une animation proposée dans le cadre du week-end d'inauguration de l'exposition "Mourir, quelle histoire!" (une exposition d'intérêt général) au Musée de Bretagne à Rennes.
