It all starts with a spark. Our very world, our existence, was just a mere spark in the cosmos. But that park ignited, forming the very world we know. Over time, that world has changed, the fire intensified and diminished. And we changed with it. Though we constantly try to fight the evolution of it, sometimes you have to let go of what holds you back, and become something new to stay who you are in your very core. I thought I was going to have one when I started this. Then I remembered that I had done The Fantastic Mr Fox McCloud back in 2020, before the dark times. Though my version is based primarily off the movie. Interestingly enough, I had no plan to do this until I think a couple weeks beforehand. I just happened to rent the movie, and after enjoying it, made the connection and decided on this mashup. To really drive the mashup home, the ‘chickens’ in the bag are Falco Lombardi plushes. Honestly this was super fun, and it would have been fun to transfer this to a library function or event. Such is the case with my one offs. Catching up and doing Day two of the #over30cosplayhalloween with my closet cosplay. I originally was going to do my first ever cosplay, but I saw this, and this was a lot better. What’s better than Fox in his PJs, have a warm drink, enjoying the cool weather, while reading a good book. Me personally, I will always prefer the physical version of anything to the digital copy. Video games, books, movies. There’s just something satisfying about seeing it there in your collection. I think too seeing it there physically will make you want to watch it more than if you just simply scrolled through your computer, tablet, console, or tv. Plus, they can’t go into what you have and change or censor stuff. Those that have Disney Plus know what I’m talking about. But what about you? Are you an enjoyer of things that you can physically hold? Or do you prefer they space savingness of digital platforms? “I think it way too common of a belief that heroes don’t get sad for anything other then the normal reasons. That is completely not true. What makes me sad in an ever changing world is when I become the villain for what made me a hero.” Happy Wednesday! Day Three of my Week of AOSM Emotions. Today is sadly, well, that, sad. First, I feel like this photo from @wphotographysc definitely gives off a sad, maybe contemplative feeling. And I use it a lot when I am feeling such. Such as when I feel like the world has made someone like me a villain despite how caring, nice, generous, supportive, etc. I am, because it doesn’t fit their ‘modern’ agenda. Or when you have an unbiased opinion about everything, because you’d rather actually investigate and form your own opinion rather than blindly jumping into assumptions based on other people’s uneducated “views”. Some of this feeling may come from working at Target, where I had once been like a hero, and became more like an abused trusty tool. It was even harder when you throw in 2020-21, and you can kind of see where I’m going. I don’t know. I guess it just seems that the world would rather praise idiots and apricot holes because they’re popular, or do stupid stuff for the same reason, rather than support the good people who are actually trying to make the world better rather than hold it back for greed and followers. But, in a good way, that’s why you support me, right? Happy Tuesday! I didn’t take many pictures at #charlottecomiccon , but I found an awesome Roxy cosplayer, and a Leon and Ashley! They were super awesomely, and if anyone knows these cosplayers, feel free to tag them so they get there time to shine. I had a feel good moment as well during the con. I saw a kid who had made a full Funtime Foxy outfit, one that was amazingly done! As they went by, I gave them a thumbs up and complimented on how awesome of a job they had done. They looked at me, probably to thank me, and they must have saw Fox’s head in my hands, because they got a little flustered it in replying back. They were torn between a thank you and complimenting Fox. And that made me feel good, because they probably looked at how well made Fox was, and to have someone, even if I didn’t actually make him, compliment their work, it probably gave them confidence in what they had created. And I hope that confidence never dies. That’s what it’s all about. Inspiring, not self gratifying. I don’t care if people think I have the best cosplay in the world, I will always see theirs as awesome as I genuinely believe in my mind. Because I was there once, and if a simple ‘awesome cosplay’ helps someone’s confidence as they enter this hobby, I will keep doing so, with even more vigor and excitement. Never give up because you maybe don’t craft as well as the “popular” cosplayers. Everyone has a style. Some don’t have the money for the fancy machines they use. And while not everyone will think so, there is always going to be those few people that are glad you are their with your character. Positivity has many Is in it, but it is something we should hand out more without thought, without a craving of reward. Yesterday I went to Charlotte Comic Con to see my very special friend @shirookami_cosplay . It had been three years, and it was the perfect excuse to see each other again. The con itself was okay, and people seemed to generally enjoy Tuxedo Fox and his James Bond mashup. It definitely was hot, and I forgot how bad the Embassy hotel that Ichi is in was when it’s packed with people. And how bad people follow basic etiquette, though the aisle were pretty narrow anyway. But I had some fun, and accomplished the main goal of going, which is all that really mattered. This will probably be my last con for a while. Also, any eagle eyes catch the car Fox drives? It’s actually a mashup of three iconic Aston Martin Bond cars. The series defining DB5, V8 Vantage from The Living Daylights, and the Vanquish from Die Another Day. I can definitely see Fox standing by any of these cars. Thank you for being patient while I took a bit of a break. I had this picture from @protoman_aegis of my human self in the con wild that I wanted to post this past Friday. I don’t have many of these kind of shots. I think the last one was with @rinbubbletea at AZ, interestingly enough with a tux on as well. But I think it’s cool, to see the fox behind the Fox, to be personal. I understand in the furry community that there are those that wish to hide their true faces, for a variety of reasons. And I respect that, because as a furry myself, you do have to protect yourself from those that don’t understand. And there are those who feel their fursuit IS who they are. But I do like putting a face to the suit, especially when talking with someone. Our suits, even those that talk, still hide our passion and happiness, our concern and sadness. And I enjoy being personal and being able for that other person to see those expressions from me, that I’m not merely saying and nodding just to be polite and waiting for that person to leave. I want to be as genuine to strangers as I am to friends, because in some ways I want that stranger to be a friend. So I guess you could say this is a suit vs suited picture. And there’s no “ruining” the magic here, because as I’ve been told, the Fox you meet doesn’t leave when the head comes off, he just changes forms. I hope you all have an awesome, genuine day. I’m not one to gloat, but it was due to Fox getting a lot of attention, as well as his regular flight suit is sometimes a pain to take pictures. So with praises to friends out of the way, the con. #animazement was good. I enjoyed be back in the Fox, and being back at cons in general. I had my doubts and anxieties about it, about cosplaying in public again, and further more, wondering if I still wanted to do this. The world has changed. I’ve changed. But getting that first request for a photo, mere seconds after getting my prop checked, it came back to me. It made me remember the fun and why I enjoyed doing this. AZ has kind of lost the luster it had since I started, but in a way, losing those drama makers, ego influencers, and possibly the immaturity to other cons worked in my favor. It made the con feel smaller, and to be honest, I tend to enjoy that feel more. I just want to thank everyone who was there for making it fun, for asking for photos, and talking with me if you had the time. Seeing people genuinely happy and loving Fox, it not only meant a lot, but did a lot to quell those voices. I hope you all, each and every one of you have the best of days! Happy Thursday! So doing a poll in my stories, it appears that by unanimous vote, you all wanted to see Nick Wilde Fox McCloud at #animazement2023 . I will do my best to bring him there Sunday. As I stated in my last post, I am still dealing with slight foot issues, and I have no clue how well I’ll handle Saturday. Happy Monday! It’s #animazement week! It’s been so long since I’ve done one of these, but I figured I do a bit of a lineup, as well as my tentative plans for the weekend. Saturday will be the return of the fox-est fox in entertainment, Fox McCloud in his normal attire. Then possibly later on towards the evening, Fox turns spicy by donning a tux and becoming the ever favorite Tuxedo Fox. Sunday right now is up in the air, but may feature the return of a happy little fan favorite character from years past. Those last two are a bit up in the air, as a lot of it depends on how I feel at the con. Not just because of my treatments, but how my feet feel after two days on my own at work, and my general mental state, ie anxiety, etc. There is a very good chance I may be there just Saturday, but we shall see. Trust my instincts. That’s what dad always told me. So young, so naive. Little did I know he was telling me about the powers within me. About the connection to this thing called the Force, the same connection my mother had. Happy May the 4th, or Star Wars Day. Just a little “What If”, like what if Fox’s mother had “the gift”, and with James’s ability, they made a Fox that would be truly a star. Happy belated birthday to the SNES Star Fox. The game that started it all, and gave us the fox we all know and love. Be it the ace in the skies, master of the land, or the champion of Smash, it all goes back to the release of the SNES game back in 1993. The game release with a revolutionary chip called the FX chip that would change SNES games for the life of the console. It’s popularity would spawn the cancelled Star Fox 2, and then subsequently Star Fox 64 for the N64. Much like its predecessor, Star Fox 64 would also go on to revolutionize the N64 console and games for its lifespan. Fox has gone on to star in four more games of his own. He is also one of the original characters to be in every Super Smash Bros since its inception. There are countless cameos, including the Switch version of Starlink, where he is an optional character with his own storyline separate from the main. And let us not forget the impact he has had on the internet and real world, with the iconic “Do a barrel roll” being known even in the military aviation world. So here’s to the game that gave us one of the greatest Nintendo characters in the companies history! Now if only they would just give us more merch! 30 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧 𝙁𝙤𝙭 Hard to believe that it’s been 30 years since Star Fox was released on the Super Nintendo! For those who know me, I lowkey a huge Star Fox fan. One of my favorite series that doesn’t get as much love as others like Mario or Zelda. First time I was introduced to Star Fox was thanks to Super Smash Bros Melee which led to me getting a GameCube in the summer of 2002. Ironically the first Star Fox game I played was Star Fox Adventures and lowkey one of my favorite games on the GameCube.
