Even though it’s not particularly effective yet, the new addition of attached manual PDFs is another extra mile inclusion that I honestly never would have expected. Yeah I haven’t posted all week, cause I haven’t been playing much, and have had even less to say outside of finishing my Super Mega Baseball 4 season. But I can tell you that Gameye (the best collection app I’ve used to date) got a big update today and it looks really nice. One major feature is sorting/categorizing by region which is a lot clearer. Good example here with the clear labeling of Mario 64 and Mario 64 Shindou edition, but I can also mark more clearly if I have a game but only as an import. #retrogaming #gameye #videogamecollection #gamecollecting #videogamecollecting

Hello world, my name is the Dota Doctor, and I am one of the Discord Moderators for GAMEYE! I started using GAMEYE in early 2021 and joined their discord soon after. After a fun journey of hanging out with such an amazing community I got more involved into the project! I now have the ability to show everyone behind the scenes and raw previews of the work being done on GAMEYE. Here is a video explaining all the effort being put into a process we call "Regionification". That is where we go through every game, ever created (I really do mean EVERY game) and we select what country it comes from. This will allow you to sort by country, and show a flag of the country on the game in the app. This is a ground breaking update for all the international collectors. You are FINALLY going to have country support, but also PRICING! In this video it will show that we had 20,450 games left to manualy select a country for. We got that number down to 11,305. That means we finished 9,145 games since I made that video! Also since this video was made we added a "Pricification" tool which allows us to add VGPC links to games in our own database! This helps us add missing prices to most games! Sorry for the long ramble, I just get so passionate about GAMEYE and their fantastic community. I've been using @gameyevg for the last couple of years. I'm not sure how accurate the prices are but its helped me catalog my game collection. Finally (!) beat Super Metroid for the SNES. Like most gamers, I have a pretty big backlog of unbeaten games, though mine tend towards the physical rather than digital. “Nintendo hard” explains some of this, but it doesn’t seem like a valid excuse for my failure to complete such a classic game as this. Especially since this is my childhood copy that I’ve had for literally decades at this point. It’s been my goal, lately, to start playing through my collection to beat as many as I can. I finally got what I’ve been looking for for a while with a new collection app. It’s free and reeeeeaaaallllyyy comprehensive and I’m having a good time reassessing the collection as I put it in. The options for condition notes, the incorporation of amiibo and other figures as well as guides, and in-app links like for YouTube are all really well-done and I’m surprised it’s actually free.
