Some stills this Sunday of the living space across the back of our house and how we have introduced shelving in different ways to add visual interest and display all the bits and pieces we have collected over the years. • Corner shelving. We couldn't have curtains across this window & patio doors because of the cabinets but some small corner shelves have helped soften the window recess. • Alcove shelving either side of the fireplace to match the alcove cabinets underneath. • Basket shelving. These are hung on the wall and don't hold anything heavy but the wicker provides warmth and texture and acts as a piece of art in itself. Have you tried any these types of shelving in your home? My Jane Austen collection🩵 • I have Pride & Prejudice, Emma and Persuasion in the Thomas Nelson Seasons Editions and Mansfield Park from the Jane Austen collection. I’ve only read Persuasion which I quite enjoyed! I wanna read another one this year. I’ve also been thinking about selling my copy of Emma and buying one from the Jane Austen collection instead as it’s prettier. They’re all different shades of blue so it would fit better. Samantha's answers to this challenge really set me thinking, and she has inspired me to have a go too! 💜 📚Short or long? Depends on the genre... thrillers suit short chapters, I think, as they keep the pace going, but I also like long, langorous chapters, filled with lovely prose - especially in classics. 📚Names or numbers? Names every time, especially witty ones that hint at what is to come... 📚Single or multiple POV? This is hard... both, depending on the story. A single pov can be very intimate and lets you really get to know a character, but a multiple pov done well is a beautiful thing... especially when each one holds the piece of a puzzle - #Lairies by @drhollyman is great example of multiple povs that come together in an exquisite moment of clarity. Perfection! 📚Stopping in the middle or end of a chapter? Who stops in the middle? The end, obviously! 📚Do you check the chapter length before reading? Sometimes, especially if the chapters are long and I am reading at bedtime, but generally not. 📚Bookmark or dog ear? Bookmark... funny story by emily henry review 🍊🫐🌼 rating: 5/5 read: 24.04.2024 - 27.04.2024 i honestly don't know what emily henry puts into her books, but whatever it is, it just puts me in such a good mood. every single book she has written is set in a place so vivid that i am desperate to go there. waning bay - i'm on my way! also, when i say funny story put me in a good mood, i mean that less in a way that i was happy the entire time i was reading - there were definitely parts that made me sad or tugged at my heartstrings (and other parts that made me feel other things *wink wink*). daphne and miles were great; i loved the fact that they declared themselves 'best friends' before they admitted the romantic part of their love for each other. i love relationships in books that feel steady and built on a strong foundation. i need to say, as well, i have gone absolutely insane since reading the last line of this book - the full-circleness of it all! and the change in meaning and circumstance! i love things like that. i'm just constantly in awe of emily henry's writing, so much so i'm struggling to even put my thoughts together in a coherent way. if you need a feel-good, emotionally-charged novel that is perfect for the spring/summer time - then funny story is the direction to go!

The talk was good as well - wish Leigh had talked a little more about her new book, such as her influences for it and the background to her writing it, but it was more of a Q&A session.
