At every garden there was a chance to buy plants of course. This involved chatting, checking and choosing, preferably with your garden besties. Sometimes, actually many times, this was a bit more complicated than expected because there were no labels on plants so although the type could be understood, the actual colour of blooms etc was not discernable. This was a great opportunity to have more chat and checking with the sellers. But sometimes you had to lean into uncertainty, throw caution to the wind and just buy anyway. #gladstoneplantfair. #wairarapa #countrygarden #greatdayout
At garden number two there was this artisan who handmade these wheels and chairs and was engaged in a yarn with a volunteer helper. #gladstoneplantfair #artisan

And there were helpers at every garden who were there to ...help and very nice they were too. They cheerfully directed traffic and recognised people from there area and were very ok about chatting. #gladstoneplantfair

Longbush Cottage and garden. The first two photos are of the interior of a garden shed outside of which there were plants for sale. The owners have an eye for aesthetics.
