This post is multifaceted. Firstly, this family vlog is not about painting a picture that our life is perfect. It’s not our intention to give the impression that we don’t struggle with ourselves, in our marriage, or with our kids and parenting them.Or that this move we’ve made to Israel has been all easy.This raises a question, what is the healthy balance, how best to address this problem that social media creates.How does one share just enough to spark joy and inspiration, but not too much so as to protect our privacy.I don’t have answers, only questions.How does one share the fleeting golden moments. What about the bad days? When everyone is grumpy and on edge, and the kids are fighting. When my husband and I have had a disagreement. Those days when you feel like just crawling into bed and hiding because there’s just too much to handle. Bad news sells as they say but honestly, who wants to see the meltdowns that we experience some days…or maybe people do? Wouldn’t that make quite the impression. I mean it is helpful to know that others are going through similar struggles. It gives one strength to know that you’re not alone in this uphill battle called life. Our social media account may give you lovely people the impression that our life is only smiles, fun, and excitement. But it’s not. And that leads me to share the second point, that we’ve been having a rough couple of weeks. Despite the sunshine, new friendships, the day trips. It’s been heavy. The days have been a bit dark. We know that it’s important not to sit and stew in this huge pot of negativity, adding layer upon layer, day after day. We are trying to shift our mindset to be that of positivity. Giving. Music. Laughter. Quality family time. For our sake and for our kids sake. This beautiful song by #hananbenari is so fitting for this time of our lives. He sings about raising children, praying for them that they won’t inherit his scars, that he’ll be there for them, in good health. What we do now matters. What choices we make now have far reaching implications. Today was successful, a step in the right direction as my girl and I walked to school - all smiles #parenting #choicesmatter #positivity
