My next quirky sight also introduced a style of architecture I had seen before but did not know the name for. That is programmatic architecture, also called novelty or mimetic architecture. This type of architecture refers to buildings or structures that are made to look like something & given unusual shapes. In this case, this was a Hog stand that was built in the mid 20th century that served barbeque & the pig 🐖 shape was given to attract customers. Though it is now no longer used, I wish it was & we had more of programmatic architecture because I feel they are so quirky & make you smile by just their sight alone. Any one else agree with me ?
