I took the top photo last night when I was driving my husband home from work at about 9:30 p.m. and I took the bottom photo this morning at around 6:40 a.m. when I was driving him back. We live a half an hour one way from his job. When I need the car, I need to drive him two hours. We cannot afford to live closer to his job. So this I’m not happy with at all, since the wood burners been installed we’ve had endless damp places pop up (because it’ll heat great but there is rooms where the heating isn’t reaching as it’s not been put on as much) and there isn’t the massive Chimmney hole for circulation of air but it’s been all downstairs and low level except the bathroom as it has 3 external walls so does struggle with temp change anyway but that’s no more than normal for the house. but Yesterday while getting ready I spotted this in my bedroom. There is even an old air brick vent in this room. I thought it was maybe a leaky roof low down as it’s isolated just there But inside the loft it’s bone dry 🤞🏻 which is great I just need to figure out what to do long term apart from just running the heating which with the prices these days 🧐Meanwhile I’ve put a tiny dehumidifier pot there which has helped massively so shows it’s more superficial but it sure didn’t look it with water marks running down the wall and bubbling 🧐 Anyone else experience this after wood burner installation without warning? #houseproblems #damp #condensation #neverends #anotheronthelist #ohthejoys #bedroom #greenroom

Welp, caulking didn't work. Pressure from small holes burst out, so I immediately shut off the main water valve and apply some Epoxy Putty. It said it'd solidify in 2 min, but I left it for an hour. It's rock solid and no leak for now. Water leak around the coupling nut. No one is available to come fix it yet. I shut the main water valve, wait for it to dry a bit, and applied some caulk. I'm letting it to dry for a few hours hopefully it'll hold until at least tomorrow. A funny thing happened as I started the 54 day Rosary Novena… Two major fears I had about my house happened at the same time. If you've been following me a while you know that this house is on my mind.  Do I make this house the forever home or do we sell and move (not necessarily far away, but move to a new house). This house is both a great gift and also not exactly what I dreamed of in my forever home. When we moved here me and my husband decided we would stay about 5 years and then reconsider what to do at that point in regards to moving. Well it's coming up on 5 years. And the house was built in the late 90’s, so the house is getting towards 30 years old. So things are going to start to break/need replacement. And that's expensive. So, my thoughts are: If I'm going to be spending money, time, and energy replacing/fixing things then I want it to be the forever home. Otherwise, I would rather sell it to someone else interested in an almost 30 year old house (that's in a great location ;) I was specifically concerned about the plumbing and the attic. Me and my husband go back and forth about moving because we didn't expect to grow fond of this house *and* it's not the big farm land!! Well, I took to the rosary with many intentions, one of many was my desire to ask Mary to intercede before God that I may have clarity on whether to stay in this house or move *if it be God's will to give me clarity.* Well, well well! In the midst of starting the 54 day Rosary Novena guess what happens!?! The plumbing failed and mice invaded my house! At.the.Same.Time My fears have been realized! We have since had the plumbing fixed (we now have luxury plumbing and two bushes have been removed from the property which I have always wanted to remove and planned to in my landscape architecture dreams for the property). The attic will soon be redone.  It's old and has holes and mice are getting in that way.  It will soon be a luxury attic with a lifetime warranty of no mice (or snakes). This has all happened so suddenly and I have only just started my 54 day Rosary Novena so as of yet I don't know what to think. All I know is ... (Continued in comments)

I would say cosy Sunday but we are trying to dry our cottage out after storm damage… water in the dining room wasn’t on our DIY list this winter…. Trying to turn the negative into a positive…. Plaster would fall of the walls, the radiator in the Livingroom would constantly leak fluid no matter what we did, it started to soak the carpet and holes started to form under the carpet and into the floorboards. Currently sat waiting on repairs got up this morning to no electric upstairs reset rcd one by one and found boiler was tripping it out so further investigation found water dripping down electrics but it can't get into the fuse spur and it's not where water is dripping so thinking that the boiler has short circuited so not hot water or heating till resolved #houseproblems #plumbers #idealboilers #storms #leaks

We left for my moms service at 6 am. We got home about 7 pm and found our front door wide open. I panicked and immediately went looking for Rug - wasn’t near as worried about anything else haha He was safe and sleeping in my moms room. I checked our indoor and outdoor cameras and I was the one who didn’t shut the properly when we left, and we never received a notification from our door lock, so it had been wide open the entire time we were gone! I flipped this house. I lost $3,000. This market shows no mercy. I bought this house in June. I knew I was gonna have tight margins. I overpaid by about $20k from where I normally would have been. I was helping a family get out of a tough situation and into a better one. I knew I was giving up funds. Then it cost too much to renovate it. I spent $52,000 including holding costs ($8500 more than budget). Then I gave up $10k off my price and concessions. So that $20,000 I gave up when I bought it, I nearly doubled it in losses from what I expected ($15,000 profit). It was a lesson I learned. It hurts. I think I’ve come to the realization that flipping homes isn’t for me. It’s why I don’t manage properties too. I have too big a heart and the stories people have really move me and I think about them rather than my pocketbook. And I also have to do a home the right way. I can’t do it cheap. And none of that would I change. It’s who I am. But I’m learning that it might not be a good fit. I really WANT to make money and help people get what they need at the same time but it’s just tough for me to do for some reason. This was the 8th home I’ve flipped too, but this may be the last one for me, at least for a while.
