California dreaming 📍 calikitchenhtx is bringing the California love to Houston! I had to order a few different things cause I mean why not! I started with the grilled lamb chops and garlic noodles. I loved the lamb chops! They were so tender and the sauce was so good! Even my best friend enjoyed it and he doesn’t eat lamb chops. The Baller Box might’ve been my favorite because those fried salmon bites were everything! It’s their take on a fried seafood platter with fried crab, fried shrimp and fried salmon. I was very surprised that the fried salmon was not dry! It even comes with lemon pepper fries! If there’s fried rice on the menu I’m ordering it every time so I ordered the Trap Fried Rice with steak. I don’t think there was one thing I ordered that I didn’t like. Now I don’t know WHAT they do to the hookah but it’s strong and definitely worth the money. From the vibes, the art, the food and the hookah calikitchenhtx is the place to be any day of the week. Offline for the week. Staycation mode: 📴 📍 wanderstayboutiquehotel made my staycation weekend so relaxed and amazing. First of all can we get into how beautiful the property is. The decor is amazing. Let’s talk about some of my favorite things about this boutique hotel. I love that they have codes and keypads to enter the property and the rooms. I felt really safe and secure. They also have a stove, coffee bar, fridge and cereal that you can utilize during your stay. The best part to me is how close it is to some really great bars and restaurants. Everything is withing a 3-10 minute drive. They’re down the street from theionhouston that has thelymbar inside so I decided to stop in for drinks before heading back to my room. holmandrafthall_htx and eight_row_flint are also close by so I stopped by there as well. This chicken is clucking crack 📍 getcrackshacked is really bringing us some the best fried chicken in Houston and for sure in Katy. This chicken was so crispy and juicy I was shocked. I didn’t expect them to come like this. Plus I love that you can get it tossed in different flavors. Such as their Honey butter, Toro, Fire or Sweet heat. I got the honey butter and I’d put that honey butter on anything! Now I didn’t forget how y’all went crazy for that one chicken sandwich during quarantine. This one is better. Go crazy! Brunch really butters my biscuit 📍 carolkaycafe is the newest brunch cafe and bistro located inside finnhallhou . I’ve never wanted to keep a spot to myself so badly. This new gem is brought to you by the same people that gave us craftburgerhtx so I knew the food was about to hit. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit and the Brown Sugar Bourbon Glazed Shrimp and Grits. I think this might be my favorite meal of the year. The crispy to soft ratio of the biscuit mixed with the sauce and the crispness of the chicken really did it for me. Plus it’s huge. It’s enough to share but trust me you won’t want to. The grits were creamy and fine brown sugar bourbon glaze was amazing. I have to go back immediately cause I saw some other amazing things on their menu that I need. On weekends we vibe 📍 mayalounge.htx is the newest lounge and restaurant in Houston and it just made its way to the top of my favorites list. This place is not only a vibe but the food is good. One thing that’s been important to me lately is a spot where the music isn’t too loud but I can still listen and talk with my friends. Definitely found that here. But y’all know I came for the food. I can honestly say I didn’t have one bad thing. The salmon was my favorite which I was very surprised by. It was so flavorful and not dry at all. Now I’m not a huge steak person but that steak was bussin. Seasoned and juicy… 10/10. The hookah was strong and the flavor was there. They even have flights and let me say they didn’t hold back on the liquor. You know I love when my drink is strong. The tequila flight was my favorite cause I’m a tequila girlie but the mimosa one was good as well. I’m on a Moroccan vacation 📍 zoamoroccan took me on a trip to Morocco with this food. Seeing as how my account won’t allow me to physically be in Morocco right now I’ll take it. This was my first time having Moroccan food and I really enjoyed it. I love snacks and dessert so that was my favorite part. The Moroccan Almond Peanut cookie was my favorite. I ate two of them. I love a restaurant that lets me have it my way! At zoamoroccan you can make your own bowl or sandwich. You have a variety of choices for proteins and toppings. Especially when it’s the holidays because that’s when the best menu items come out. timhortonsus really outdid themselves with this holiday menu. They’ve dropped a few items but my favorite is the Brown Butter caramel Cold Brew. I love my coffee strong but still with some sweetness and this is it. Paired with their new Peppermint timbits (donuts) man amazing. Perfect breakfast on the go. I swear it’s deja brew 📍 wild_concepts should definitely been on your list for one of the best coffee shops in Houston. I finally went to their Westheimer location and it did not disappoint. I’ve been really into coffee shops lately and good work from home spots in Houston. I’ve come to this location twice and the ambiance is always very relaxing. I love that I can get three of my favorite things here good coffee, a good drink and good food. I tried the brunch and regular menu items. For brunch I tried the Little Tokyo French Toast. It was a different take of French toast. I thought the ube butter really made it! But my favorite things were the Black Sugar Wings and the fried rice with chicken Katsu. Both were amazing. The wings without the sauces were so good but the sauce really took it to the next level. I made sure to grab a few cocktails and it doesn’t matter which one you order they’re all amazing. I believe wild_concepts has one of the best espresso martinis in this city. Definitely top 5. Oh and did I mention you can get anything infused! It’ll be a chill work day for sure after eating here. I’ll let this one slide 📍 goapesugarland is bringing you all the adventures this summer. They have five different treetop courses throughout the park. The Treetop Journey course is very beginner friendly yet still very exciting. Now the Treetop Adventure is for those that are more comfortable with this type of experience. There are plenty of zip lines and rope courses throughout. I love how the instructors walk you through how to use the equipment and make sure you’re comfortable before you start. They get you hooked up in the harness and you can either bring gloves or buy them from the park when you arrive. Now Houston, we know it’s hot. Therefore my personal recommendation is to come at 9am when they open to beat the heat. If you’ve never done anything like this before this is your sign. I love zip-lining and going through that ropes course was really the workout for the day. This place combines axe throwing, arcade games, food and drinks. All the arcade games are free! They had every throwback game including Mario Kart. I love that the food is decently priced. First, the Brunch Tower is a must order. Especially if you don’t know what you want. It comes with a little bit of everything. Salmon avocado toast, lemon blueberry ricotta muffin and an apple coffee cake. Everything on the tower is amazing. My friends and I were fighting over that muffin and the coffee cake so take it from me and order more than 1 tower. They have some fun new cocktails as well that are cereal theme. I’ll let this one slide 📍 goapesugarland is bringing you all the adventures this summer. They have five different treetop courses throughout the park. The Treetop Journey course is very beginner friendly yet still very exciting. Now the Treetop Adventure is for those that are more comfortable with this type of experience. There are plenty of zip lines and rope courses throughout. I love how the instructors walk you through how to use the equipment and make sure you’re comfortable before you start. They get you hooked up in the harness and you can either bring gloves or buy them from the park when you arrive. Now Houston, we know it’s hot. Therefore my personal recommendation is to come at 9am when they open to beat the heat. If you’ve never done anything like this before this is your sign. I love zip-lining and going through that ropes course was really the workout for the day. This new gem is brought to you by the same people that gave us craftburgerhtx so I knew the food was about to hit. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit and the Brown Sugar Bourbon Glazed Shrimp and Grits. I think this might be my favorite meal of the year. The crispy to soft ratio of the biscuit mixed with the sauce and the crispness of the chicken really did it for me. Plus it’s huge. It’s enough to share but trust me you won’t want to. On weekends we vibe 📍 mayalounge.htx is the newest lounge and restaurant in Houston and it just made its way to the top of my favorites list. This place is not only a vibe but the food is good. One thing that’s been important to me lately is a spot where the music isn’t too loud but I can still listen and talk with my friends. Definitely found that here. But y’all know I came for the food. I can honestly say I didn’t have one bad thing. The salmon was my favorite which I was very surprised by. It was so flavorful and not dry at all. Now I’m not a huge steak person but that steak was bussin. Seasoned and juicy… 10/10. The hookah was strong and the flavor was there. They even have flights and let me say they didn’t hold back on the liquor. You know I love when my drink is strong. Hit the Westin with your best friend or whatever Kanye said 📍 westin is lowkey back on my radar. I’ve been to the one in the galleria plenty of times but I forgot how great the Westin Memorial City location was until I went with my best friend. They have not one but two bars inside and the food is good. Those wings were so crispy I was very surprised. Has some of y’all’s favorite wing spots best but we won’t get into that. We also had bang bang shrimp but before I could remember to record them we finished them. They were so good. The room was amazing with his and hers sinks. I love that. First, the Brunch Tower is a must order. Especially if you don’t know what you want. It comes with a little bit of everything. Salmon avocado toast, lemon blueberry ricotta muffin and an apple coffee cake. Everything on the tower is amazing. My friends and I were fighting over that muffin and the coffee cake so take it from me and order more than 1 tower. They have some fun new cocktails as well that are cereal theme. I can’t lie every cocktail was so good, light, and refreshing. Next to the tower my two favorite dishes were the Hawaiian fried rice and the Farmers Market Scramble. In my zone! 📍 thefoodzonegrandtexas is the newest food park just outside of Houston. I came because I HAD to check out chickenheadz_htx . I heard he had some best honey hit chicken sliders in the entire state of Texas. I can’t lie they lived up hype. Now by now y’all know I love a Lotta friends so I had to get that as well. They are munchie pack comes with a slider and a loaded fry. I love that you can choose your different spice level. I highly recommend going to them first when you come to thefoodzonegrandtexas because they sell out fast. So I guess that’s my excuse to come back because I need to try some other things on their menu. The owner of chickenheadz_htx had the entire park lit the whole night with hookah and Jell-O shots. Oh and did I mention the hookah and the shots were FREE! Just roll with it 📍 norigamihtx was my first hand roll experience and I’m honestly mad that I’ve been missing out. This restaurant needs to be your next stop for date night in Houston. Or even just a friend date. I ordered the Norigasm which comes with multiple rolls. My favorite was the spicy salmon roll. It’ll probably be my go to roll now because the flavor and rhetorical toppings complimented each other so well. The blue crab was my second favorite. I loved how intimate and relaxing the atmosphere was. It made it perfect to talk and enjoy watching them make the rolls. norigamihtx even has a speakeasy for those that might want to sit at the bar and grab a quick drink. I’ll let this one slide 📍 goapesugarland is bringing you all the adventures this summer. They have five different treetop courses throughout the park. The Treetop Journey course is very beginner friendly yet still very exciting. Now the Treetop Adventure is for those that are more comfortable with this type of experience. There are plenty of zip lines and rope courses throughout. I love how the instructors walk you through how to use the equipment and make sure you’re comfortable before you start. They get you hooked up in the harness and you can either bring gloves or buy them from the park when you arrive. Now Houston, we know it’s hot. Therefore my personal recommendation is to come at 9am when they open to beat the heat. If you’ve never done anything like this before this is your sign. I love zip-lining and going through that ropes course was really the workout for the day. You’re the wine that I want 📍 messina_hof is the perfect date night spot near Houston that’s sure to impress. Located in Richmond this is the only messina_hof location that has a kitchen. I didn’t expect the food to actually be just as good as the wine. The steak got my best friend to eat mushrooms. That’s how good it was. It melted in your mouth and had great flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy and not too thick. I loved that the pizza was cooked in a brick oven which gave it that crips that I like. I heard they have brunch as well which I can’t wait to try. As we get closer to the holidays I need more dates that are budget conscious. They have wine flights for $18-$25 including one where you can build your own flight. Brunch really butters my biscuit 📍 carolkaycafe is the newest brunch cafe and bistro located inside finnhallhou . I’ve never wanted to keep a spot to myself so badly. This new gem is brought to you by the same people that gave us craftburgerhtx so I knew the food was about to hit. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit and the Brown Sugar Bourbon Glazed Shrimp and Grits. I think this might be my favorite meal of the year. The crispy to soft ratio of the biscuit mixed with the sauce and the crispness of the chicken really did it for me. Plus it’s huge. It’s enough to share but trust me you won’t want to. The grits were creamy and fine brown sugar bourbon glaze was amazing. I have to go back immediately cause I saw some other amazing things on their menu that I need. On weekends we vibe 📍 mayalounge.htx is the newest lounge and restaurant in Houston and it just made its way to the top of my favorites list. This place is not only a vibe but the food is good. One thing that’s been important to me lately is a spot where the music isn’t too loud but I can still listen and talk with my friends. Definitely found that here. But y’all know I came for the food. I can honestly say I didn’t have one bad thing. The salmon was my favorite which I was very surprised by. It was so flavorful and not dry at all. Now I’m not a huge steak person but that steak was bussin. Seasoned and juicy… 10/10. The hookah was strong and the flavor was there. They even have flights and let me say they didn’t hold back on the liquor. You know I love when my drink is strong. The tequila flight was my favorite cause I’m a tequila girlie but the mimosa one was good as well. I made it in time for brunch to try the shrimp and grits and let me say they have some of y’all’s favorite restaurants beat! I took them home and reheated them the next day and it still slapped. You’re going to have to check out my story for the rest of the views but this is just a glimpse of how relaxing it was. Did you know that hiltonamericashouston has a picnic in the park package? You can add it to your stay and it comes with water bottles, a charcuterie board, and some chocolates. We decided to do a late night picnic in discoverygreen which is right in front of the hotel. A convenient 1-2 minute walk. We enjoyed the views from the rooftop while we painted some beautiful canvas by houstonpaintsesh . Then of course we had to check out R24 which is their panoramic rooftop lounge. It offers complimentary coffee and soft drinks but you can always grab a cocktail or two. The views from there are just amazing. One of my favorite parts about hiltonamericashouston is the fact that there’s a papistapas that you can get to from inside the hotel. Plus there’s other food options within walking distance or a 5 minute Uber ride. Safe to say I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be booking again. This chicken is clucking crack 📍 getcrackshacked is really bringing us some the best fried chicken in Houston and for sure in Katy. This chicken was so crispy and juicy I was shocked. I didn’t expect them to come like this. Plus I love that you can get it tossed in different flavors. Such as their Honey butter, Toro, Fire or Sweet heat. It’s giving luxury and I love that for us. I honestly can’t decide what was my favorite because I truly enjoyed everything. From that flaming tomahawk to the red snapper and truffle mac. I was too full. We even had leftovers to take home. The Heartbreaker was my favorite drink because it reminded me of a strawberry lemon drop. But don’t get me wrong all the drinks were good. Hit the Westin with your best friend or whatever Kanye said 📍 westin is lowkey back on my radar. I’ve been to the one in the galleria plenty of times but I forgot how great the Westin Memorial City location was until I went with my best friend. They have not one but two bars inside and the food is good. Those wings were so crispy I was very surprised. Has some of y’all’s favorite wing spots best but we won’t get into that. We also had bang bang shrimp but before I could remember to record them we finished them. They were so good. The room was amazing with his and hers sinks. I love that. It makes it so much easier when it’s time to get dressed. They also give you a robe which was perfect for when I hoped out the pool. Speaking of the pool I loved the view and how it was covered. There were plenty of towels on the pool deck which I appreciated cause I definitely forgot to bring on.
