You’re a creative! You’ve got big ideas, audacious dreams and you’re really freaking epic at your art. Here’s the thing: it’s not actually your fault or a flaw in your plan. It’s simply that you’re a Visionary and need an Integrator to take your big dreams and visions from idea phase to on the ground, action and implementation. It’s time we start taking lessons from nature to create big, fruitful, thriving, soul-fulfilling, regenerative businesses 🌱 ( 📩 Save this for the next time things aren’t feeling natural in your business) Number 1: Consistency Nature has a consistent rhythm in which it operates - we often refer to this consistency as seasons. And in order to grow plants in nature you have to plant your seeds at the right time and provide consistent care (in the form of watering and tending) for those plants to grow and eventually handle their own care and maintenance. In business, consistent care looks like building out systems, workflows, policies and procedures so that eventually your business can maintain itself with minimal effort required on your part. Number 2: Collaboration/Diversity In nature, different species and organisms work together to create a thriving ecosystem (think of the rainforest and how everything works together so intimately). In business, we need collaboration and diversity too. Our collaboration often looks like community. From networking to more intimate spaces like your team or your mentor, you need other people to help build and hold your dream. The biggest caveat here is that nature while having a communal aspect does it from a place of diversity. Meaning that in your business you don’t want everyone you surround yourself with to think and act like you! You need diversity to provide new perspectives and to boost areas that you don’t thrive in. Number 3: Cash Flow Just like how water flows from the mountains into streams and rivers then into lakes and oceans, so does cash within your business. Understanding how money flows through your business helps you prepare for the various seasons in your business. (Because just like in nature, water doesn’t consistently flow year-round.) It allows you to intimately understand the workings of your business and the times when there’s abundant flow and times when it’s more of a trickle. We’ve all been here… You get a new job. You’re SUPER excited about it! Then after a couple months (or if you’re unlucky - a couple of weeks) the reality of things hit you and you start to realize exactly why this job position was open. It turns out that the big, beautiful, clear-skies image your new boss painted during the interview wasn’t an accurate reflection of the actual state of things. And now you’re stuck in a job that you not so secretly loathe. And we bet you just recalled the boss that still, to this day, grates on your last nerve - right?! (If you did leave a 🙌 in the comments.) And we’ll also wager that when you started your business you swore up and down that you’ll NEVER be like that person right? You’ll be the cool boss, the fun one, the good one that everyone loves! Not a total D-bag like your nightmare boss! By all means that is a GREAT goal to have. Lord knows the world needs better bosses and managers! But the problem is that you probably didn’t start a business to be HR or a manager, right? You went into business to chase your dreams! And this isn’t a bad thing, it doesn’t make you a bad person. It just means that you have to proceed with caution. Because sometimes what we think are “fun boss” moves actually causes resentment among the team or for you towards your team. So here’s our best ways to still be a good boss while, ya know, doing all the “crap” needed to run a thriving business: ✅ Always be clear when communicating expectations, boundaries, etc. ✅ On that note, uphold the entire team to the same boundaries and standards ✅ Practice active listening (ie: you’re present not formulating a response) ✅ You have to lead the way ✅ Define roles and responsibilities (and make sure the right people are in the roles) ✅ Allow for other’s opinions and creativity ✅ Encourage diversity ✅ Make those systems (or else how do you expect people to learn?) ✅ Get to know your team (everyone is different and works differently) ✅ Base incentives off of clear KPIs ✅ Most importantly - treat people well! #FemaleEntrepreneurs #ServiceBasedBusiness #Integrators #OBM #OnlineBusinessManager #SupportingFemaleFounders #CreativeBusinessOwners

How amazing would it feel to have some spaciousness in your business? To not feel like every damn day is crammed full of to-do’s and have I paid that bill yet? Here’s the best secret - all you have to do is implement 2 things. 1️⃣ Put non-negotiable breaks into your calendar. Find those times in your day where you know you start feeling like everything’s just a lot and create a non-negotiable break. Then when that time pops up, get up from your work, take a walk, crank some music and dance, meditate, whatever feels good to you. You’re going to feel reinvigorated when you do. 2️⃣ Create a space where looking at your cash flow feels comfortable. Money often feels constrictive. So try approaching it from the viewpoint that it doesn’t have the power to make or break you, instead its words of wisdom. And follow the flow of cash through your business like you would float down a lazy river, noting those spots that you bump into and think about ways around them. Pretty soon you’ll be celebrating the financial successes you’re making in your business. Bonus Tip: Create the space for cash flow right after one of your non-negotiable breaks, it’ll be easier for you to have a fresh mindset. The team had an absolute blast coming together to compete at the 2024 Bayou Regional in Kenner. They ended Saturday awarded the Team Spirit Award recognizing the team’s work to promote and exemplify the ideals of FIRST while working to collaborate with and uplift others. Our best rank during qualifying matches was 15 out of 51 teams; ending qualifying game play in 19th place. Furthermore, the team left this weekend having so inspired a local private donor that we now have our ENTIRE travel and lodging for the FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP paid for outright!!!
