Under the aegis of IQAC, the Department of Fashion Designing at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women organized hobby classes titled 'Fashion Impressions' for 10+2 pass-out female students. On the fourth day of classes, which took place on May 23, 2024, the students were treated to a demonstration of the art of tie and dye. Thirteen students participated and successfully created beautiful dupattas using the tie and dye method. Our Postgraduates Jaya Dharshini and Renuka from the Department of Community Geriatrics and Palliative Care, Saveetha college of physiotherapy along with the Community Medicine team, SMCH led the initiative. They assessed and treated 60+ workers with complaints, of neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and varicosities. The camp aimed to provide immediate pain relief and promote long-term wellness among the workers. The team used various therapeutic methods and ergonomic advice to address the workers' issues, significantly improving their comfort and productivity. On the second day of the classes, May 21, 2024, a demonstration on the art of stone painting was conducted. Thirteen students participated in the session and learned about various styles of stone painting. After selecting their designs, the students first painted the stones with base colors. Then, based on the suitability of the design, they began working on motifs and details. Various types of stones were painted with quotes, floral motifs, emojis, and more. The students enthusiastically participated in this creative art of painting. The session was led by Dr. Shikha Bajaj, Assistant Professor in Fashion Designing. Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon appreciated the work done by the students and encouraged them to try their hand at intricate designs at home as well. On the second day of the Trendy Cooking hobby classes organized by the Department of Home Science, on May 21, 2024, fourteen students attended a session on making Manchurian. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of IPR among participants from various academic backgrounds. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 280 attendees, including faculty members, researchers, and students. Distinguished speakers shared their expertise on different aspects of IPR, providing valuable insights to the audience. Professor Madhurendra Kumar, Coordinator, IQAC, University of Allahabad extended a warm welcome to all participants, emphasizing the importance of IPR in todayโs knowledge- driven society. Dr. G. R. Raghvender, a senior consultant in IPR at the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) and Former Joint Secretary (Government of India), delivered an enlightening keynote address. He highlighted the significance of protecting intellectual property and its impact on innovation and economic growth. Afternoon session started with the lecture of Professor Geetika, an expert in the field, discussing various forms of intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks.
