In this picture I employ my trickiest camera trick - even if you can’t spot it right away.. Zoom blur! By zooming the lens out as I shoot, I keep the subject the same size in the frame while my shutter speed is just slow enough to blur the edges; this creates separation between the subject and background as well as visual energy.
