CULTIVATE AND NURTURE EXISTING KINDNESS Master Jun Hong Lu: The fourth is, "Right Diligence" (第四个“正勤”). It is about "nurturing pre-existing goodness for it to flourish" (已生善令增长). What this means is you know that this is a kind deed, so you must motivate yourself to do it. You should tell yourself, “It doesn’t matter whether today is my duty day or not, as long as time permits, I will do the cleaning, assist others or help them carry things. Even if I’m not on duty, I’ll do it nevertheless”. You must remember: If something wholesome has taken root in your heart, you should let it flourish. Let the kindness within imbue your entire being and over time, you will be filled with more and more positive energy. CREATE YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES Master Jun Hong Lu: In ancient times, there was a fencing master. When asked who and what was the one unforgettable thing that had benefited him the most in his life, he said it was something his mother once said to him. At that time, he was just 18, young and vibrant and had just started practising fencing. He used to complain that every time before his sword could touch his opponent, the other party’s sword was already on him. So, he confided to his mother, “It’s all because my sword is too short!” To this, his mom responded, “No, son. Remember this. Go ahead, step forward as that’s when your sword is lengthened”. We should never blame or accuse others as our destiny is actually in our hands. When an opportunity knocks on our door, why don’t we take a step forward and grab it? Do not be jealous of others because their success is nothing but a function of their diligence and hard work. We must seize the opportunity that comes to us. But, when there is none to be had, we should create the opportunity by putting in the effort. If you are someone endowed with a strong spiritual foundation (根基好) and you have the spiritual means (有条件), you must plough along with diligence so that you can eventually return to be with Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Conversely, if you are faced with adverse conditions, you need to recite the _Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance_ to sincerely repent; strive hard to transcend the cycle of rebirth to return to the warm embrace of our heavenly mother in this very lifetime. Inspirational Short Stories: Listening to the Ticking Watch One morning, a man was looking everywhere for his watch but he could not find it. He was very anxious. As he was going to be late for work he left the house and he wondered to himself, “What’s happening? Why couldn’t I find my watch?” After the father left, his son entered his dad’s room. The son immediately found the watch. When the father returned home, the child said to him, “Dad, I found the watch for you!” “How did you find it?” The father asked. The child said, “I sat quietly in your room and I heard the ticking of the watch.” Isn’t the same in life? *PURSUING A HIGHER STATE OF MIND IN LIFE* Master Jun Hong Lu: We must begin from observing discipline, concentration and wisdom to eliminate the deep-rooted seeds of greed, hatred and ignorance in us. Buddhists understand these concepts. Discipline can eradicate greed, Concentration eradicates hatred, (when our mind is calm, there will be no hatred in us) Wisdom eradicates ignorance. Hence, it is clear that the Three Studies of Morality, Concentration and Wisdom is effective in eradicating The Three Poisons. 【脱离苦难，就可到达彼岸】 男听众：请台长开示一下有个佛家的寓言：说的是有一片沧海，对面就是仙家佛地，度过那片海过去就可以“立地成佛，修成正果”了。很多人就千里迢迢过来，坐船、坐木筏拼命想要度过海到对面去。但是波浪很厉害，一个波浪过来一大批人就淹没了，但是人们还是不断地涌到海边，想渡海过去。佛祖就闭上眼睛不忍再看了。 若干年后有几种人：第一种人历经千险到了彼岸，他就“修成正果，立地成佛”了；第二种几经努力，没有到达彼岸，就回家安居乐业了，佛祖称他为“幡然醒悟佛”；第三种就是一个老人常在海边打渔，他也不为这些人流所动，就过着很简单朴素的生活，后来佛祖点化他为“宁静佛”。其他这些失去生命的，就称之为“芸芸众生”。后来就有个人问佛祖“你是哪一种佛呢？”佛祖就答“看尽人世悲欢，闻尽世事沉浮，叫’大彻大悟佛’。台长，上面说的那几种佛是不是真实存在？这个寓言意思是不是台长经常说的“众生即是佛”？ 台长答：完全正确。我把你这个故事稍微解释一下就可以了。实际上你根本不知道，人要渡过这个大海，实际上这就叫“苦海”。我们人就现在就在苦海当中，你说人苦不苦？求不得苦，生老病死苦，各种各样的苦都有，所以这种苦就是我们人间。这个寓言就是说：只要你脱离苦难，就可以到达彼岸。我们能够把思维想通了，我们能够超脱人间到达彼岸，我们就到达菩萨的境界了，是这个概念。实际上菩萨看见人在苦海里挣扎，有些人被人间的浪花所淹没，这个“浪花”就是人的“贪瞋痴”，人的贪钱啊。所以为什么说什么事情你不能贪啊，为什么很多人慢慢贪到后来就结束自己的生命了？因为他在贪欲当中拔不出来了。有一个房子要更大的房子，要为了孩子，要为了什么……他越来越不断地去追求、去贪，贪到最后什么都失去了，因为他生命失去了啊！钱多了也没有用了（对）所以这就是一个苦海，实际上菩萨一直在苦海里救我们。 但是人在苦海里，一个小木舟，我们在翻啊、在滚啊，有时候被一个浪花就卷到海里去了，就结束了。所以菩萨教导我们，我们“人”不能在苦海里再挣扎了，我们一定要“幡然猛醒”，一定要到达彼岸。所以佛家讲“回头是岸”，因为我们在苦海里，你没有看见彼岸，因为一直在苦海里往前看，你没有往后看，等到你回头了，马上看见岸了。你没有回头啊（对。谢谢台长开示，谢谢观世音菩萨）好，再见。 ——Wenda20131110A 13:44 #佛 #佛教 #佛法 #觀世音菩薩 #观世音菩萨 #guanyin #菩萨 #心靈法門 #心灵法门 #盧軍宏臺長 #盧台長 #Buddhism #masterlujunhong #masterlu #lujunhong #junhonglu #xlfm #佛言佛語 #wisdom #wordsofwisdom #智慧 #學佛 #因果 #心 #正能量 #寓言 #苦 #掙扎 #回頭是岸 #彼岸
*ALL RELATIONSHIPS HAVE LINKS BACK TO ONE’S PAST LIVES* Master Jun Hong Lu: Do you know what is the most common thing I see through totem reading? *Many mothers and sons were couples in their past lives.* Once, a couple came to see me in my office, and in the midst of our conversation, they started to quarrel. I told them that they would never go their separate ways despite their endless quarrels because they have a lifetime of negative affinities. This is what happens to many couples as long as their karmic grievances are not resolved. Then, I could see that in their past lives, the husband was fond of kicking his wife. I asked them whether it was true in this life every time they quarrelled, the wife snapped, _“That’s right, Master. He kicks me every time we quarrel”._ I could tell that their spousal roles were completely the opposite in their past lives, where the current wife was playing the role of a husband in her past life. In a nutshell, *karmic grievances are inherent in every interpersonal relationship. GIVING IS THE KEY TO WEALTH Master Jun Hong Lu: After learning about the karma of giving, a man eagerly told the Zen Master, “When I strike it rich in the future, I will definitely cultivate generosity and make a career out of helping others”. The Zen master answered, “If you are only willing to give after you become rich, I suppose you will neither be rich nor will you give”. The man probed, “Why do you say so?” The Zen master told him, “Because giving is the key to wealth”. This man replied, “I am so poor now. I don’t even have enough to eat. How can I practise giving?” The Zen master picked up a grain of rice from the man’s bowl and said, “A sincere and compassionate heart starts from offering a grain of rice. Taking one less grain, a few grains less or a dozen or dozens of grains less will have no effect on our health whatsoever. In fact, many a time, things that may seem worthless to us can be the things that others yearn for. When our hearts are sincere in giving, even if it is just giving away a grain of rice or a penny, it’s equally meritorious”. “Unfortunately, many people are only willing to give after they become rich, not knowing that generosity starts now. Those truly wealthy people have no time to practise giving, nor do they have the heart to do so as they will be more interested to use the money to churn out more for investments”. In Buddhism, it is said that it is from giving that one receives. A person who wishes to gain needs to understand that he needs to learn to give first. It is common nowadays that people wait for others to treat them well before they will do the same. If you know that the other party is waiting for you to show them kindness, why can’t you be the one to take the first step? When you give your heart out, be rest assured that your love will be reciprocated. Hence, to be willing to part with one’s possession is the wisdom of a Bodhisattva that is free from all self-interests. While practising Buddhism, one is likely to slacken when one is not alert. When we attain the fruition of a Bodhisattva, we can control ourselves and exist in such a way that all our behaviours possess noble qualities. Regard other people’s problems as our own. ✨2021年✨ 🌷师父每日佛言佛语🌷 ✨2021-04-28✨ 🪷《无为而为》🪷 “无为而为”那是菩萨的境界。就是不管你做什么事情，都是从“有为而为”到“无为而为”的转变。功德的圆满或有漏，最主要是看发心的清净。 如果你做任何事情，都是有目的地去做，“有为而为”，那就会不圆满。 如果你做任何事情，是没有目的地去做，不为自身求福报，只为众生得离苦，“无为而为”，这种为了成全和帮助众生而发心，就能功德圆满。 所以学佛人要没有私欲地去救人，那你就远离四相，超脱了我相，成为无相布施。 不为功德而做功德，只为了救度众生去行功德，这就是菩萨境界的提升。 去除杂念无我相， 无为而为去行善。 不求福德有功德， 行善积德变功德。 人总是希望多做功德，但本身过分地追求功德，也会让功德有漏，会造成功德的不清净。所以为什么有些人修得很好，一求就灵，福慧双修，家庭平安，诸事顺利，而为什么有些人你看着他在做功德，每天忙碌地念经、许愿、放生，但最后所求之事，均不能如愿，因为他是“有为而为”，已经让功德变成了人天福报。 带着目的去行善，总是功德不够圆满。 有时候甚至在行善之中，很难度到众生，而且让有些人对佛法会产生误解——以为每个人只要做点功德，就可以消灾解难。 这就让尊贵的佛法变成了人们求名求利所使用的一种方法。 平时拥有很多的心，去念经、许愿、放生，你就是在漏失功德； 当碰到有烦恼或业障爆发时，你就很难消业过关。 在家修行确实不容易，而且在家修行，很多时候人在红尘中打转，心随境转。 环境一好，开心了，就多做一点；环境一差，不开心了，就少做一点。这个也叫功德有漏。 所以发心非常重要，尤其一个念经做功德的初始心更不容易。你们如果不把这些搞懂，可能连脱离世俗的五欲六尘都很难。 世间欲望无止尽， 有为而为贪恋心。 放下名利智慧生， 清净圆满懂感恩。 人最大的问题是执著于欲望，因为有求就会有欲望，总觉得自己的欲望能满足，他们根本不懂，带着有目的的求佛修心，一定让你承受功德有漏的痛苦。 举个简单例子，一个人在单位里，只有无私地帮着别人做贡献，才能成为一个领导。如果每天做一点事情就想得到回报，最后你会被人家认为是投机取巧，没有任何让人尊敬你的地方，最后成为不了一个领导。 佛法界称为“有为法”。 所以学佛要放下，学佛要三心不可得。 今天我做任何功德，我不是为了让过去的良心过得去，不是为了今天的名利，也不是为了将来能日子过得好一些，未来多有福报。我只是想为了帮助众生，解脱烦恼，一世修成。 所以善事和功德的理解完全不一样。一个有目的去做事的人，大家都知道你是有目的，所以很多人对你就不会很尊敬。如果你没有目的地去帮助别人，你就能成为一个受人尊敬的尊者。 所以无为和有为，在境界上有着本质的区别。 只管耕耘不问收获，就是我们学佛人应有的心态。 学佛学的是境界， 念经念的是解脱， 许愿许的是愿力。 无欲无求是无为， 善信善行本性归。 #masterlu #wikipedia #心灵法门 #学佛 #lujunhong #junhonglu #instagram #修行靠自己啊 #卢军宏 #卢军宏台长
