@honey_bee_cottage my project for today...Here is the mostly finished lamp. Just need a bit of extra trim for round the top. I used fabric from an old dress that was too short for me (I'm 6ft btw) and yes, it did hurt my soul a bit to cut my dress up- but I have an idea for a new dress with the top half. Squeeeee!! The excitement is real!! I've been waiting for these pretty pretty plates to arrive from the States for just about a month! They are @thepioneerwoman side plates, I saw them when I was in Arkansas in Sept. Walmart stocks this range, but does not post internationally ๐ I couldn't fit them in my suitcase. A lovely friend of mine over there, picked up my order and posted it out to me. Last night I was havin' a blast, re-shading this gorgeous scalloped shade (I got off trademe $10) with fabric from a dress that I love, but it's too short for me. I'm a big fan of Walmart's Pioneer Woman kitchen and home decor range. I discovered it when in Arkansas, September just gone. I love the bright colors, the country vibe...I just don't love that Walmart does not deliver to NZ. To get any of these pieces here costs an absolute fortune, despite the actual products being very reasonably priced. SO!!! Pioneer Woman dupe time! I really liked the pw pepper mill but couldn't justify paying so much to get it here. I bought these plain wooden pepper grinders from The Warehouse, deciding I may as well make a salt grinder too. I also bought the wooden box, deciding to make a picnic table style servery. After giving the grinder ball tops a quick sand, several coats of paint each, I then added a coat of spray on varnish. I simply gave the box a light wash of turquoise... added red polka dot napkins, a ceramic yellow jar for our knives and forks and some lovely flowers from our garden! Voila!! Love it!
