What does your groomer mean when they tell you they’re going to be giving your dog a ‘comfort groom’? Coco’s groom today was a fantastic example of that term. She’s a 14 year old gal and she let me know when she wasn’t feeling the groom anymore when I was 99% done. Literally just had her ears left, but she was getting herself so worked up that I decided her ears weren’t worth the battle and the stress she was putting us both through. Just me trying to get a hand on her face was enough to make her wanna do back flips. She very clearly let me know she had hit her limit for the day, and that’s okay. A comfort groom just means that we are going to do what your dog can handle, what they will allow us to do. Grooming can be stressful, especially on senior pups.
