Our newest favorite game! We received Jr. Detective as a gift this past weekend, and we can’t stop playing it. It is a simple sleuth game. You get to be a Jr Detective solving neighborhood pranks. Seriously, the graphics are vintage nostalgia. They harken back to a simple and innocent time in life. The detective gadgets include a decoding spy glass, a mirror to read backwards messages, and even a heat activated clue card! Each player keeps track of suspects and witnesses on their own notebook. I remember the season we went through when everyday felt like a wall to climb over. Have you seen the insurmountable wall in the pictures of boot camp training? That is what the season felt like. Over and over again, running up-to that wall getting inches off the ground and ending up in the mud. During that season I found myself looking long at other homeschool families and thinking, “it seems so easy for them….their kids are over this wall and gazelling onto other things.” Have you ever been there? It is a hard place, but looking back I realize one thing…. ☀️ we were doing better than I could see in that moment. The comparison game is a trap! That wall that you feel like you can get over, it can be walked around 😉.
