What a game changer! My husband and I put together this DIY ironing board tonight to cover the hooping station on my Bernina Luxe Sewing Suite. Having an ironing station close to me again is speeding up my progress on the Swoon Sixteen quilt I’m making for my step daughter. I put together two more blocks using the new ironing center, so I just have 13 more to go. I feel so spoiled having this space to sew in. I’ve always loved the patchwork duffle. When I saw @omjquilting beautiful bag, I knew I had to make one. So I ordered the fabric and pattern to copy hers. Why messs with perfection? 🤭 Jessica added rings to the zipper tab to attach a carry strap (not part of the original pattern). 💡 I used the #byAnnie pattern from my Ultimate Travel Bag to add strap tabs, a carry strap and a shoulder pad. My sister/cousin and her hubby take a lot of road trips visiting their kiddos and grands. I knew the duffle would be a great gift for her when they came to visit and celebrate my mom’s 90th birthday last month. Star quilts are always my favorite, and I made this pattern to turn a single charm pack into a good sized throw quilt. I used #lollipopgardenfabric and some coordinating solids, and the quilt turned out 61” x 71”. I haven’t decided yet if it needs a white outer border.
