Here is my version of the Melilot shirt/blouse by Deer & Doe and my second entry for the #sewaprilblouse24 Melilot is such a great pattern. It has lovely elements like the curved hem, dropped shoulder short sleeves, and adorable rounded collar. Due to the small floral pattern on this fabric, some of the features, like the pockets are not as visible, or perhaps the photos don't do them justice. Despite being a casual shirt, it is slightly tailored at the waist and with its deep curved hemline it creates a beautiful shape when worn untucked. The hem turned out to be quite lengthy though, so I might shorten the lenght a little bit next time. Otherwise, I think this is one of my favorite patterns. I finally finished this pyjama shirt that I've been meaning to sew for over a year 💙💜🩷 I did cut the fabric over a year ago when I was preggers with my second, so I had to do some recutting now 😂 but it wasn't too difficult because especially the front piece was huge! Custom Wolpole Plush (PIKMIN) For today's post, we have the Wolpole (Amphicaris frondiferorum). The Wolpole makes their first appearance in PIKMIN and is a reoccurring creature in the all mainline Pikmin games. Wolpoles, which resemble tadpoles, are, in fact, the larval form of the Wollyhops. They have a green or dark blue body with green fins. Wolpoles can be found in shallow waters and even be found dropping from ceilings in caves. Despite possible giving slight fright when dropping from the ceiling, they are practically harmless and can be easily defeated. Sometimes, they'll end up swimming so fast to the point where they end up beaching themselves, flopping around until they get back into the water. Het staat stap voor stap goed uitgelegd. Het is zeker de uitdaging waard! Het is een heerlijk zomerse top geworden! 💛🧡❤️ Ik koos ervoor deze mooie top in een heerlijke zomerse viscose te maken. Echt een prachtige stof! Bovendien verwerkt ie zich prima. ❤️🧡💛 Ik zag al aardig wat Georgie’s langskomen. Omdat het model wijd valt, koos ik voor een soepele stof. Dan valt de stof mooi omlaag. Toen ik de top voor het eerst aanhad, stond de voorkant flink naar voren: het patroon en ik waren geen match. Ik loste dat op door de onderste cm’s van de voorkant in de broek te stoppen. I did finish sewing my outfit just in time for #torontofrocktails2024 ! Such a wonderful night spent meeting lots of other hobby and professional sewers. So fun and fascinating to see what everyone made. My dress is an @namedclothing #berylbomberdress I had been eyeing this fabric and dress combination for at least a year, and the ‘golden age of glam’ theme pushed me to finally go for it. I love the combination of more formal fabric with a casual style. It pairs well with sneakers which is a must these days. Fabric is a jacquard with a little bit of stretch from @lestissees . This fabric was great - the metallic bits are not at all itchy, and the little bit of stretch was a welcome surprise. It did fray a bit, though not as much as I’d feared! Zipper was ordered after the fabric arrived from @wawaksewing The pattern was great to work with. All I did was shorten the dress by 2cm, shorten the sleeves by 1cm, and graded out a size at the hip. I also used cotton voile for the elastic casing instead of a ribbon. Happy Sewing Sunday!! This is yet another version of #m7472. This time I made view F but with long sleeves. I have been having a moment with plaid lately- reveling in the satisfaction that comes with matching the plaids perfectly from sleeves to side seams to front edges. I find rarely are commercial garments matched so perfectly, so yet another advantage to the home sewn garment! I purchased this gorgeous plaid @moodfabrics during my birthday trip to NYC this past fall. I was immediately drawn to the bold pink check against the grey and black backdrop. I lined the body of the shirt with black cotton flannel and the sleeves, one part of the collar stand and the underside of the collar with a pink poly lining, both from @voguefabrics. Since finishing this Shacket about a month ago, it has been on regular rotation as chilly spring temps still abound here in Chicago. I always get compliments when I wear it, as I feel this fabric and cut really make it stand out. I hope you enjoy all the detailed pics of the plaid matching! Had a fab night at @a_reet_good_gathering 🤩 It was so good to see everyone’s amazing creations and natter all things sewing 🧵 I made a new dress for the occasion and decided to go all out. I’d spied this pattern from @deer_and_doe_patterns quite a while ago but didn’t think I’d have the occasion to wear it…until this years date was announced 🥳 It’s the #ddcircee dress and I felt so glam in it! The plunging neckline, wrap front and huge sleeves won me over. And I managed to win a prize! Those amazing sleeves bagged me an awesome goodie bag from some very generous sponsors 🥰 The pattern takes quite a lot of fabric and I didn’t have enough in my stash so decided to treat myself to this jacquard viscose from @stitch_fabric1 that I’d seen at the Stitch Festival (but it had sold out). So many people bought this fabric and I had serious FOMO so managed to grab some online. Such a good price for an amazing quality fabric! This was a lovely slow sew. I enjoyed every minute of making it. I’ve had this one cut out for yonks too, I think in a stitchy session with my mates. The fabric is from @fabricgodmother and is a viscose twill, the pattern is the #cocoondress from the #naniirosewingstudio book. Maarja hoe goed je ook je best doet om een jas goed te houden, toch gaat die een keer kapot. Al lang zat ik daarom na te denken om er zelf 1 te maken. Maar man, wat een uitdaging is dat. Zo ontzettend veel patroondelen en zoveel stappen. Ik heb een voor een patroon uit de @knipmode 12-23 gekozen. Deze heeft 45 stappen aan instructies en de instructies zijn zo beknopt beschreven dat het een hele opgave was om alles te ontcijferen. Maar het is gelukt en het resultaat mag er zeker zijn. De stoffen die ik gebruikt heb komen van @harrys.onlineshop2.0. Hopelijk wordt dit mijn nieuwe favoriete jas die ik veel en lang ga dragen. For the longest time, I've been thinking about making one myself. But man, what a challenge that is. So many pattern pieces and so many steps. I picked a pattern from @knipmode and let me tell you, it has 45 steps of instructions, and they're so succinctly written that deciphering them was a task in itself. But I did it, and the result is definitely worth it. Hopefully, this will become my new favorite jacket, one that I'll wear often and for a long time.
