I know often that parents are so worried about how their children will behave or handle our time taking photos, but I always promise I will deliver a beautiful gallery to you. Are getting ready shots worth taking on your wedding day? 3 Reasons why I say ABSOLUTELY YES!!!! 1. It sets the stage ✨: I believe your wedding day is the start of a new chapter📕 in your love ❤️story. It’s like the narrator in the beginning of a movie 🎥, that starts off with “once upon a time.” If you didn’t have that little prelude, you might feel lost or feel like you just plopped into the middle of the story. So in photos, it allows the narrator (your photographer) to capture the moments leading up to the climax ↗️of the day. 2. BTS: Who doesn’t love behind the scenes? I know I do for sure. Being that we are on the topic of movies, I ALWAYS love the bts videos of how they made certain scenes or how the actors felt before doing a big stunt scene. When we get those shots of you putting on your makeup 💄or having a sword fight 🤺with your groomsmen, you want your spouse to see those moments that happened before the ceremony. Because guess what? They won’t be there and you want to have the ability to relive your ENTIRE wedding day! 3. Details: All the months leading up to the big day, requires a lot of decision making on all the big and small details. For example, how many different versions did you make for your invitations 💌? Or how about how many times you went back in forth on which pair of heels 👠you wanted to wear, or how about the awesome groomsmen tie clips you got? It was so easy to get fun shots with these two, why? because Gerri could rely on her best friend to loosen her up and make her laugh on a drop of a hat. All Wesley had to do was give her a quick look or a whispered comment and she would break out laughing. That’s how I know these two will be an amazing complement to each other. The Vega’s booked me for the love package I created for Valentine’s Day this year. The idea was to help get parents/couples out on a date night to celebrate their love as it’s often last on our long “to-do” lists as adults. . The plan was to head to town and take pictures along Main St. and then stop at their favorite Taco joint for a drink! After 11 years I STEEL love you 😘 even if you were my stalker at first 🤣 Yupp, you read that correctly, Jason was my stalker 😅. Let me set the stage, Jason was 14, I was 15. On this very cold winter Saturday morning Jason saw me from a distance at our shared Kingdom Hall (our house of worship). May I remind you it was very cold day… like heavy coat, all bundled up. Despite all that he saw me and knew I was someone he wanted to get to know. I apparently don’t remember this day because I was really not feeling my best. Anyway, Jason spent the whole morning asking our mutual friend @phillphoto__ all kinds of questions about me. You see Phillippe and I went to the same high school and had lunch everyday with our group of friends together. After learning as much as possible about me he set it in his heart to know me himself. Over the next couple of months/years he would follow me around our assemblies, invited himself over my house when another mutual friend @heyimmikec family was over. Needless to say Jason always found a way to find out where I was and just happened to just be there 🤷🏽♀️ I’m so thankful he never gave up on me. He patiently waited for me to come to terms with the fact that I fell in love with my best friend. How to Engage DAD in your family session..... There's a common misconception that Dads dislike photo shoots. Even though it is often tough to persuade Dad, with a little planning and effort, you can persuade Dad to agree to a family session. Taking a family portrait may be fun for both dad and the family, as well as the photographer! The idea is to focus on playing and having fun rather than posturing. You'll have a greater chance of persuading your spouse that it's a good idea if you plan a more activity-based family photoshoot.
