We took our boys in for the ANZAC Day March this year so they could watch dad and see what the whole day is really about. They had an absolute ball and kept saying it was the ‘best day ever’ because they were included in what can often feel like something just dad does on his own. Thirty-six. Today I turn 36 years old. I remember my last birthday being so sure that 35 would be one of my best years ever. It definitely wasn't exactly how I pictured but I did get pregnant with my 5th and final child, really solidified some friendships, expanded my scientific knowledge significantly and earned my PhD. I am 38 weeks pregnant, wrapping up my lab work, preparing to list my house in Arizona and move to Maryland to start a new position. I am nervous and stressed about all these next few months. I hope everything falls into place. I hope 36 brings some clarity to my career and my family. I hope we get to find a house that we are happy in. I hope we can start to raise our children the way we have been wanting to be. I want to be a better mom and wife. I hope we have another beautiful healthy baby and we can move past the making babies stage and move into a new stage of parenting and family. There are some huge adjustments happening in the next few months and I hope we can navigate them strongly.
