Et je devrais être mort depuis longtemps". Matthew Perry commence son autobiographie de cette façon, de cette terrible façon... Il nous livre le récit poignant et franc de sa vie, de ses succès, de ses échecs, de ses failles, de son rapport aux filles, de ses amitiés, mais aussi et surtout de cette chose terrible : l'addiction, le combat de sa vie face à l'alcool, à ces foutus opoïdes (OxyContin notamment) et à la cigarette. Il a pris à cœur d'aider les autres face à cette maladie. C'est d'ailleurs de cette façon qu'il œuvrait pour que le monde se rappelle de lui. Il ne voulait pas être limité à son rôle, certes complètement mythique, de Chandler Bing, dans Friends. Et il avait terriblement soif de vivre. Il le répète à plusieurs reprises, avec conviction, alors pourtant que ses addictions avaient failli le tuer plusieurs fois... Malheureusement, il est décédé peu de temps après la parution de son livre. Et cela brise d'autant plus le cœur de lire cette soif de vivre quand on sait sa fin... Bref, j'ai évidemment adoré autant qu'il est possible d'adorer un roman autobiographique. Il a une très belle plume, très fluide, très cash. Il m'a beaucoup touchée... Matthew Perry ist tot. So lautete vor genau einem halben Jahr die Schlagzeile. Anfangs fand ich es schwer zu verstehen, warum oder woran. Aber über die letzten Monate ist mir einiges klarer geworden. Habe mich sehr viel damit beschäftigt. Viel gelesen. Videos und Interviews gesehen. Außerdem habe ich das ungekürzte Hörbuch auf Deutsch innerhalb eines Tages durchgesuchtet. Ja, ich geb den Stimmen recht, die sagen es ist etwas durcheinander geschrieben. Aber nein. Der deutsche Hörbuchsprecher macht seinen Job nicht schlecht. Dennoch. Blieb ich nach etwas mehr als neun Stunden nicht ganz zufrieden zurück. Hatte das Gefühl, die Sache ist nicht rund. Vielleicht nicht gut übersetzt. Also... Nachgeschaut ob es auf Englisch zu finden ist. Ja, war es. Und was mich sehr überrascht hat. Er liest es selbst. Deswegen. Nochmal von vorne. Diesmal auf Englisch. Und ich war nach wieder knapp neun Stunden überzeugt. Betroffen. Zerrissen. Traurig. Überrascht. Was für ein besonderer Mensch er (in meinen Augen) letztendlich war. Welche Seite er in diesem Buch zeigt. Was für einen anderen Matthew man hier kennen lernen darf. Weil er eben so viel mehr als Friends ist. Mittlerweile habe ich weitere Filme und Serien mit ihm entdecken können und kann für mich sagen. Er war genial. Hatte mega coole Ideen. Die vielleicht ihrer Zeit voraus waren. Denn mir erklärt sich absolut nicht, weshalb die Serie "Go on" abgesetzt wurde. Sie hatte so viel Potenzial. Tolle Botschaften. Noch so viele Schicksale zu erzählen. Ich hätte so gerne mehr davon gesehen. Wer sie noch nicht kennt. Ich kann sie euch absolut und von 💖 empfehlen! Heute ist allgemein so viel mehr über ihn und die Umstände bekannt. Es wird so viel berichtet. Aber... genauso wie beim Buch... werden wir wohl nie die ganze Wahrheit kennen. Dennoch, wer Lust auf so etwas hat.... Chandler est devenu mon personnage préféré en grandissant, parce que le sarcasme et son histoire sont au-dessus de tout. Le mec qui n’arrive pas à s’engager, qui en a peur, qui veut reprendre à fumer mais veut aussi arrêter, qui se sert des blagues pour se protéger de tout… On comprend encore plus avec ce livre à quel point Matthew EST Chandler. Durant 10 ans, Matty n’a jamais joué un rôle, mais juste lui. Et pourtant, je pensais que Friends l’avait aidé, à passé au-dessus de ses addictions, de son mal-être. J’avais tout faux. Et pourtant, j’avais espoirs.🥃 • Je crois qu’un livre ne m’a jamais autant détruite. Bien sur que j’ai pleuré, plus que sur n’importe quel livre, plus que sur certains films. Je ne pensais pas découvrir autant de choses, restées quasiment toutes secrètes depuis de nombreuses années. Les rumeurs existent, mais je préfère les faits. J’ai trouvé ça dur de lire, mais surtout d’aller dans les pensées les plus intimes de Matty. Et quelle force il a eu d’écrire ce livre. Pour l’apaiser de toutes ces choses, je pense. Mais surtout pour constater qu’il est toujours en vie, après avoir frôlé la mort tant de fois, et pour se donner le courage de continuer de ce côté sans retombé tout en bas. Kdo ale věděl, že ten samý Chandler, tedy jeho představitel Matthew Perry, nejen v průběhu natáčení Přátel, ale po celý svůj život bojoval s těžkou závislostí na lécích a alkoholu? Já jsem o tom nic nevěděla. 📚 Přátelé jsou jedním z mých nejoblíbenějších seriálů. Do autobiografie Matthewa Perryho jsem ale neměla v plánu se pouštět. Po jeho smrti jsem však věděla, že si to chci přečíst. Potřebovala jsem vědět, co tomu předcházelo. 📚 Nebylo to lehké čtení. Tolikrát jsem toužila Matthewa obejmout. Myslel si, že není hoden lásky, proto z každého vztahu vycouval dřív, než to začalo být vážné. Myslel si, že potřebuje slávu, aby se cítil lépe. Myslel si, že právě sláva mu přinese štěstí a klid. Pak se stal jednou z hlavních postav tehdy asi nejsledovanějšího seriálu a zjistil, že ani sláva a peníze mu štěstí nezajistí. 📚 Matthew Perry je ve své autobiografii velmi, velmi upřímný. Nic nezamlčuje. Dozvíte se, co všechno bral, a jenom žasnete, jak je možné, že to vůbec přežil. Zjistíte, kolik času strávil na různých odvykacích klinikách a kolik peněz ho to stálo. 📚 Na druhou stranu ale Matthewa Perryho velmi obdivuji. V první řadě za jeho vytrvalost. Svůj boj nevzdával. Chtěl se uzdravit, přestože to pro něj bylo tak těžké. V druhé řadě obdivuji jeho touhu pomáhat druhým. V dobách, kdy se cítil lépe, pomáhal lidem, kteří stejně jako on bojovali se závislostmi. Vynaložil na to nemálo peněz i energie. 📚 Zlomil jsi mi srdce, Matthewe. Několikrát 💔 Přátelé už nikdy nebudou to, co dřív.
