Y O U G E T O U T W H A T Y O U P U T I N . We thought we'd have a look back at some of the prep work that was involved, before showing off the finished product on this mosaic parquetry floor. . Slide 1 - What was an ensuite and part of another room before walls were removed. Arrived to a disastrous attempt at filling the old shower recess; tile glue and other holes in the concrete. Slide 2 - Jack-hammering out the bulk fill that had been incorrectly installed. Slide 3 - An overview of how the new parquetry was going to be laced in to the old. Also a view of the shower recess which had been completely cleaned out and the 1st coat of water proofing membrane applied. Slide 4 - Floor leveller poured where the old ensuite use to be, to allow for a much flatter sub-floor surface. (This is after bulk filling the old shower recess) Slide 5 - Area in the hallway where taps from the main bathroom had leaked in the wall and caused damage to the parquetry. Slide 6 - Moisture was present in the slab, so again, applied a waterproofing membrane to allow a sound surface to reinstall the parquetry. Slide 7 - Cleaning up the back of the parquetry we pulled up and reinstalled. Slide 8 - More damaged parquetry around the perimeters in places. Heat gun was the easiest way to remove the glue from the concrete. Slide 9 - This trim was around the perimeter throughout the whole floor. As you can see, looks very untidy...
