Logan Museum is pleased to announce the opening of the National Woman’s Relief Corp—Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Museum (WRC-GAR) within the Museum in Murphysboro. The National Woman’s Relief Corps (WRC) has moved its diverse collection of artifacts from its Springfield Museum to the General John A. Logan Museum as a permanent exhibit. The Museum, located at 1613 Edith Street, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. The WRC-GAR collection of artifacts includes: • Civil War Battle Flag that was carried at Shiloh, Resaca, Atlanta, Tullahoma, Corinth, Nashville, Vicksburg, and other significant battles of the Civil War. • The only surviving drum that beat the cadence for Robert E. Lee as he arrived at Appomattox to surrender to Ulysses S.
