This boy finished out his preschool year with the best teacher ever. Mrs Crystal was the best and was so patient with my boy. She loved him and I am forever grateful for her. We have a graduate again! First NICU graduate, now a DOC band graduate. So so happy that he completed this journey. He had a roughed time right when he came out to this world but look at him, happy, thriving and growing! they did say he caught up to his growth. But what’s next? LOL ahhhhh. 102 days. 14 weeks 4 days. 3 months 11 days. I can’t take this anymore! I just want Niko to come home with me and his sister. I know as day pass the more Impatient I get. I’m done being patient. This waiting is torture. The doctors can’t give you a date or time. Im so ready to close this chapter and start out a new one. I have no idea how I am going to manage all his appointments, work full time, take care of 7 year old and manage the house. The next two years will be an adventure for sure but I have no doubt in my mind that Nikolas will keep on shinning for sure. When you see him you see a term baby now you would have never know he was born at 25 weeks. I am so proud of him. He is not on any breathing or feeding support. He just keeps on amazing the doctors. I guess all the hours I have spend doing skin to skin, taking, singing have paid off. Not to mention pumping every 3 hours so he would only get my breast milk. As I sit here holding Niko looking at his handsome face my mind start to drift in thoughts. So much to think about.. my past, present and future…so many feeling and emotions going thru me at this exact moment. Holding the tears back. I refuse to cry anymore. No more tears. Enough. This is just TEMPORARY! Moths form now this will all be behind us and Niko will be home with his sister and I. A loving home. Full of laughter and adventure. Out journey is yet to start. This lack of sleep and eating.. pushing my self beyond my limits.. and most of all having to face the birth trauma and to feel a pain that I wish on no parent! I will keep taking one day at a time and fully enjoy the time I have with my children. I am truly blessed to be able to love all my children and truly blessed to have survived with Nikolas the nightmare of our birth. Thank you 🙏 God for this blessing as you are slowly making me into a stronger and a better mother. I Love you God. Even though I feel as an orphan child at times. This is how I found him 😡 don’t even know what to say On 11/11 baby boy graduated to the big boy wing of the hospital and left the small baby until. I can’t believe he will be 2 months of next week 😱 it’s so hard having a baby in NICU. I get so angry often. At times it does not even feel like I had a baby because he is not home. I feel like I am visitor to him instead of his mother. He will be in the Meadow wing until of the children’s hospital until he gets to come home. Unless he has complications and and he needs more time to master a milestone. At time he would be moved to the river unit. I will keep praying we do not end up there. This time last year was a rough one for me. I had just given birth to a beautiful baby boy whom at 4 days old had to be driven to Orlando to have surgery. I spent my 30th in a hospital room while he was sedated because he was in pain. I felt so wrong wanting to be happy on my birthday, I felt like a terrible mother leaving him to go eat my birthday dinner w/my husband. And you would think a year later I should be over it. Well it easier said than done. But I am thankful my birthday wish came true he is healthy (to healthy if you know what I mean.) And I now feel like I can enjoy my birthday again.
