Roter Amaya-Ziersalmler (Nannostomus sp. Amaya Full Red) Es geht recht vielversprechend los! Die Tiere haben sich hervorragend eingelebt im Keilbecken und das Männchen checkt gerade seinen Marktwert! Echt interessant zu beobachten! Morgen gibt es nochmal etwas Regenwassser und Säure! Der Ph Wert liegt aktuell bei 6,0! Die Wildfänge haben letztes Jahr bei Ph 4,7 gelaicht und die Nachzuchten versuche ich jetzt erstmal bei rund 5,5 einzustellen. What is everyone’s favourite pencilfish? It’s easy to say the brighter coloured species like N. mortenthaleri or N. rubrocaudatus. But some of the more common species, like this N. marginatus, are just as attractive and impressive when kept in correct conditions and I can never make up my mind over my favourite! It’s easy to think you should use smaller botanicals, especially leaves, in tanks with small fish to try and keep the layout to scale. In the wild though these fish will often be around these larger leaves as they provide more cover to utilise if a predator swims by. I honestly can’t remember what leaf this was when it was added into the aquarium, it’s decomposed so much that is now just looks like a generic large leaf. A lack of colour does not mean a boring display. This green stripe pencilfish, Nannostomus marilynae, is not a fancy show piece fish, it is subdued in colour but has fascinating behaviours to make up for it. The aquarium has a blend of greens and browns with a few slightly orange plants to create a gradient between the two. There is no bright red plants, nor vibrant rocks. There is, however, green neon tetra 😁 Overall the aesthetic is as natural as any aquarium I have created whilst using plants. From the front This is the view that greets me when I enter the room. I'm thrilled! 😯😍 I can't wait to see the background plants grow tall, they are currently just a few cm tall, but eventually, their grass-like leaves should reach the surface. Also, the stem plants should eventually fill in the gaps and hide some of the equipment. Now, if only I could make up my mind about the shoaling/ schooling fishes that I will get! Any suggestions? Currently on top of my list is #Nannostomus rubrocaudatus or N. trifasciatus. I will want some #Hyphessobrycon tetras for sure, and Parotocinclus haroldoi catfish group should have a place in here too. Current population: 3 #Clithon snails. Let's go for #TinyPlantTuesday with this one, as they are still so small plus I do have quite a few miniature species or cultivars. Much love to the underrated in my opinion #nannostomus eques ( brown pencil fish ) for its unique swimming style and its nocturnal strip pattern it gets. The fish feeds off of fallen insects from above so with the top of the fish having clear fins and white, it makes it hard to see from above by predators , meanwhile the bottom half of their fins are dark along with the bottom so it makes then hard to me seen by predators from below too. #brownpencilfish #ornamenalfish #ornamentalaquaticwoods #spiderwood

These green stripe pencilfish, Nannostomus marilynae, may not be bright and colourful but they are a great addition to any tank. Pencilfish seem to have more character than other small shoaling fish and like to have little disputes in between picking at hardscape and plants (without damaging them). They also create a nice contrast with a brighter species like I have done here with the green neon tetras. Suitable for planted aquascapes or biotope/botanical aquariums, there’s a pencilfish for everyone! ここ最近での入荷魚たちの一部を撮影してみました。もし宜しければご覧くださいませ。 1. Corydoras colossus 所謂レセックスです。今回の個体は大きめですが若くオススメです！ 2. Nannostomus erythrurus コロンビアの美しいペンシルフィッシュです。この類としては大人しいのも嬉しいところ。 3. Corydoras sp. ‘てんてんアクセル’ 同じ呼称で様々なタイプが輸入されます。所謂deckeri ではないですが背鰭も伸びて綺麗になる美麗種です。 4. Corydoras sp. ‘マツザカエ’ セミロングの美しいコリドラスです。C. ourastigmaと同様の配色パターンを持ちますがこれも環境による収斂かと思われます。 5. Corydoras pygmaeus albino ピグミーコリドラスのアルビノを固定・品種化したものです。とてもサイズの小さい白コリがわらわらしている様子はかわいいけど店主は少し苦手かもしれない。 6. Corydoras sp. ‘イエローフィンナポエンシス’ ペルーのとても美しいエレガンスグループのコリドラスです。ナナイ水系のお魚としては結構丈夫で落ち着いた個体を選べば初心者の方にもオススメできる種です。 7.
