This is an '82 Nissan Silvia S110, sold in the United States and Canada as the Datsun 200SX and the Datsun Sakura in Mexico. Originally introduced in 1979, the S110 was unique in that it was originally designed with a rotary engine in mind; this proved unreliable, forestalling production and necessitating a redesign of the car. Ultimately the car shipped with a line of twin-plug piston inline-4 engines, from the 1.8L L18 to the 2.3L FJ24; some of these engines came from Nissan's Z cars at the time. The car also had a hatchback version named the Gazelle in Japan and Mexico. US-spec models originally featured a 2.0L L20B, and later changed to a NAPS-Z Z20, also of the same displacement. The top of the line model, the SL, featured a remote opening hood, trunk and gas tank lid, removable glass skyroof and more adjustable seats. Production ended in 1983 with the introduction of the S12. Now this casting was designed by Larry Wood and introduced in 1982 in the Hot Ones series. This casting has seen seven known releases, the last in 1985 as a Mexican release. A curiosity: headlamps part of base. TBT to that time I had a 2002 Infiniti G20 Sport, and then sold it because I needed a truck again. Sold it for this 1985 Nissan 720 truck that was bare-bones base model. Both of these pics were from 2013. I paid $750 for the G20 from a customer who couldn't afford to fix all the things a college girl did wrong to it, and spent a small fortune on bringing it back from the brink of death.
