März lief der Film ein zweites Mal im Werkstattkino in München. Narva, eine Stadt im estnischen Osten. Der Bahnhof, an der russischen Grenze. Südlich der Gleise, der Kulturpalast, verlassen. Vassili, dort, in der ehemaligen Bibliothek, eine Reparaturwerkstatt. Ein Monolog, durch die Werkstatt, auf Russisch. Emilia übersetzt. Der gelbe Wagen, am Kulturpalast. Verlassene Wohnblöcke am Stadtrand und ein neuer Parkplatz. Das Ofenrohr aus alten Regenrinnen, aus der Werkstatt am Kulturpalast. Eine Lampe zur Reparatur. In der neuen Bibliothek schreibt Oksana die Untertitel, auf Russisch. Around one month later, on March, 26. the film was shown a second time at the Werkstattkino in Munich. Narva, a town in the Estonian east. The railway station, on the Russian border. South of the railway tracks, the Palace of Culture, abandoned. Vassili, there, in the former library, a repair workshop. A monologue, through the workshop, in Russian. Emilia translates. The 1932 24 Hours of Le Mans saw some of the biggest changes to the event since the start. The race used to run into some of the suburbs of Le Mans and was completely on public roads - this was very common for races at the time, think events like the Targa Florio. For '32, a brand new, purpose-built section was constructed to bypass the suburb of Pontlieue. This was a long right-hander after the pits where the Dunlop chicane currently sits, then the Esses and Tetre Rouge leading to the Mulsanne straight (or Hunaudieres if you want to be specific). The main contenders for the race were the Alfa Romeos (pictured here on the grid before the start) and the Bugattis, which were backed by the factory. The Alfas set the pace early with a works car driven by Franco Cortese leading after the first round of pit stops. But he ended up needing to pit later on with a broken windscreen. Another Alfa, driven by the previous year's winners, took the lead and looked set to repeat until a blown gasket at 3AM took them out. The next Alfa in contention was driven by Raymond Sommer and Luigi Chinetti. Chinetti, an ex-pat Italian, had gotten a fever from spending long hours prepping the car for the race and didn't spend a lot of time behind the wheel. He could only manage a 3 hour stint, meaning Sommer needed to do 21 hours on his own. While there was a challenge from the Cortese Alfa and a Bugatti, Sommer and Chinetti's Alfa prevailed by two laps. It was Chinetti's first of 3 Le Mans victories, and he'd also score a class win at Sebring in 1950. Chinetti would later go on to form the North American Racing Team, or NART, in 1958 to promote the Ferrari brand in America. They raced blue Ferraris and scored a P2 at the 1964 US Grand Prix and a P2 and P3 at the '64 Mexican Grand Prix.
