My parents were right about everything they warned me about. I can’t say I wasn’t told you know. . I thought I knew wassup, kept it real even though I got punched in the face for it at times. Made choices where I was risking it all. I have a daughter so there always that in the back of my mind. Life wasn’t pretty at times and within that realm my head was wrapped on all my shortcomings. The way I lived I felt it was what I deserved because of who I am. . Lots of kids(mentally, you can be 27 and still be a kid) get lost in this, myself included. We as a society have made up lies like, YOLO, worry about it later, whatever happens-happens, we’re here for a good time-not a long time. I use to say”I rather burnout than fade away”. Sadly many of us take years to rebuild our lives because of the choices we make. . Lets be conscious of our choices, for ourselves first. Lets talk about consequences, I use to hate that but it is necessary. So much can be avoided. My issues were with a “street liefestye” but this can be applied to relationships, money, addiction, etc. because it’s a mentality; take a step back and think. . After the house of cards you built topples, your life is left in the unknown. You can have control of your life when your choices reflective the quality of life you want to live. . This particular project demanded a custom font. I was given a a mood board and automatically saw that it needed its own font. . The mission was to give it a retro look while at the same time give a timeless application. The font I initially made was too stiff, it didn’t flow. Then we added the swooshes, even sheared the font slightly as well as slanting it 5 degrees. . Bam! We had the font we both the client and I were happy with. Slide through to see the different versions we explored and well the deconstruction on the typeface. . Ultimately the logo needed to be in the shop itself. Deedra mentioned that it had to be in gold.
