My stepson recently returned from Rome where he picked up some beautiful postcards for me. Rome is one of my favourite places and one of the best holidays me and Ian went on before having the boys. I wish life was as simple as the first photo makes it appear. Peaceful and pretty….but if you take a look at the 2nd photo, this is my reality. 😂 I was visiting Charleston, SC. Charleston’s nickname is the Holy City. The sidewalks are uneven due to being so close to the water and tree roots have made them come up in places…long story short….i kissed Holy ground! 😭😂 The sidewalk grabbed my sandal and I flew forward, hurting my poor knee in the process. Thanks to God I have no broken bones and I’m on the mend. I’m sitting here journaling before I fly out, back home to Texas. I’ve never named a notebook/cover before, but I’m calling her Naya . 🤍 Which happens to have been my childhood nickname. This #nayapaperie cover is so nice my instinct is to baby it, but if I keep it in a pouch i know I’ll be less likely to pick it up every time I think to write something, and I definitely wouldn’t be able to use it as my wallet (which my #hobonichiweeks cover usually is as the notebook I carry everywhere). So, I’ve decided that it’s better to have a beautiful cover marked by use than a perfect cover that isn’t functional. Since taking a break from planner content, my own planner has gotten messier and simpler. 😅 I don't think making spreads for content is a bad thing necessarily. Adventures in Sticker Making…. Once upon a time, I had a Cricut Explore but I don’t now (that’s a whole dramatic story) but… @hollys_crafty_life sent me the Joy!!! And here are my thoughts - 1. The Cricut Joy is the most adorable size. I love its compactness & the way it fits neatly on my desk! And doesn’t take up a whole room. It really is absolutely perfect in this. The cutting range is still large! I made 6.25x4.25 Sticker Sheets! 2. There is no print & cut option. I really don’t understand this design choice?! My brain cannot comprehend a reason to leave out this necessary feature. 3. Is it possible to hack & do print & cut anyway? Yes. But it frazzles my brain & wastes sticker paper & basically is not at all enjoyable. And the sticker border is not precise & clean cut as I’d like. 4. The Joy is gonna be fantastic for making bookmarks & tabs & dashboards & dividers! I don’t really put vinyl on stuff. I will have to discover other fun planner projects. Send me ideas! 5. They do have a Joy Xtra with the Print feature I’m looking for! But it’s priced at more money than a Cricut Explore! 6. If @cricut wants to send me a Joy Xtra 💖🤩 I will make tons of sticker making videos!
