Y’all, I went to the MOST delicious ice cream place I’ve been to in the Twin Cities. It’s called “Nelson’s Ice Cream,” it has ONE dollar sign on Google, AND (following certain rules they have in place) you can give them old license plates for free ice cream. I thought it was funny that the ones I captured stated “5,283 cows go 414 miles per hour” 😂 The ice cream in the last panel is their “Mackinac Island Fudge” flavor and it was magnificent, honestly. Nelson’s Ice Cream has been in business since 1923 and is a local legend. They are best known for their ridiculously large portion sizes. When I saw the people in front of me order a small and get more ice cream than I could eat in a month, I went with a child’s size of the raspberry chocolate chunk. And when I saw how big that was, I stopped her mid-scooping on the peppermint stick flavor. I couldn’t eat this much even if the ice cream was amazing. And it wasn’t. Too sweet and freshness seemed to be lacking. If you can eat an entire lumberjack portion, you get your photo on the wall.
