5 HOURS OF CLEANING!!! 🧹🧼🧽🥱⛵ Splash day is coming (cross your fingers for next week 🤞) and we really needed to do some major clean up today. First 2 pics are beforepics. Middle pic is the KNEE PADS THAT SAVED MY LIFE because I'm getting old. Last 3 are after pics. Still need to tackle the head and the quarter berth. Ran out of time and energy! But it is SOOOOO much cleaner. We have new cushions for everything but since we have some windows that are leaking we don't dare put them in until those are addressed. So in the garage they stay. Still so much to do inside to fix leaks, rot, and fix her up nicely. While algal blooms can seem like a natural occurrence, they are anything but normal. In fact, algal blooms are a warning sign that our waterways are in distress from excessive nutrient pollution. Point source dischargers, agricultural runoff and land clearing of previously forested areas are leading causes of nutrient pollution in Falls Lake, made more extreme by our changing climate, which is bringing more heat and extreme storms that dump nutrient laden runoff into our waterways. An algal bloom this intense, this early in the season is indeed cause for concern about the health of Falls Lake.
