This is a disease that is rarely discussed amongst the medical community. Trust me it is REAL. Both of our girls have suffered for years with Lyme disease and it’s co infections, you cannot even begin to understand the suffering they endure daily. Both Maryjane and Erika are stronger than anyone I know. They deal with incredible pain, disappointment and take in everyone”s opinions of what they need to do, especially mine 😬. I remember the day my daughter called me to tell me her diagnosis was confirmed as Lyme Disease and several other co-infections I could neither spell or pronounce. Even though I was afraid, I naively thought “ok we have this,” you will take some pills or a treatment, maybe antibiotics and good to go! I had absolutely NO f…… clue what absolute HELL my sweet daughter was to face, 15 years! Most of us get up, feed the dogs, do a little laundry and head to work or a fun adventure. Mary Janes adventures are enduring getting OUT of bed and going for more and more blood tests, mold tests, doctor appointments, grocery shopping for the maybe 8 foods she can eat that don’t cause some kind of freaky flare. And this is just the start in another day of HELL. She pushes to the extreme of mountains you could never imagine existed and Never complains. I cry and cuss God out but not her, she does not want to worry those who love her most.
