🏁🏁💥💥 RCN Nordschleife completed ✅️💥💥🏁🏁 Today we were unlucky... while leading the race in our class we had to manage some mechanical issues (oil temp🧯🌡️) and reduce the pace to keep the engine in operational mode. Nevertheless we were fighting for a steady podium until the alternator belt decided to left us :(😭 After limping the car back to the pitlane, Lempart team & @angelo_peregrina changed the belt and we returned to the race track. There was not much to do from this point on and the result was p11. It almost seems like a running tradition now, going to the ring in April and it snowing. The weekend didn’t get off to the best of starts. On Friday, I left the car running and forgot to turn on the aux fan whilst charging my battery. This resulted in my expansion tank blowing up. To add insult to injury, I had brought a fan controller with me to prevent this happening. Thankfully I had a spare tank and with the help from @blaine93g , I was back up and running that evening. I’ve not had much seat time in the last year, since there were large changes to the car. I felt unusually nervous driving, with my confidence being at an all-time low. That said, I still managed 17 laps on Saturday in all conditions and the car felt phenomenal, particularly as the track started to dry in the afternoon. The car has so much more stability and traction in the rear end after carrying out all the works. So far, my only regret is going with the 4.1, instead of the 3.9 final drive. Hopefully with a little more seat time, I’ll figure out the optimum way to drive it around the ring. Regardless of the poor conditions, it was another class weekend with the gang! Auf dem aktuellen Automarkt gibt es bekanntlich viele sinnvolle und praktische Fahrzeuge, die perfekt für den alltäglichen Gebrauch vieler Menschen geeignet sind. Es gibt aber auch den kleinen britischen Hersteller Caterham, der seit 1973 dieses völlig irrsinnige und zugleich brillante Auto anbietet: Den Caterham Seven (1973-). Dieser basiert eng auf dem uralten Lotus Seven (1957-1972), wurde jedoch mit der Zeit immer wieder mit neuen Motoren ausgestattet und leicht modernisiert. Aktuell reicht die Motorenpalette des Caterham vom kleinen 0.7L Dreizylinder mit 84 PS bis zum 241 PS starken Caterham Seven 480/485 mit 2L Vierzylinder. Darüberhinaus ist der Wagen ein sogenanntes „Kit-Car“ und wird in Einzelteilen geliefert. Ebenso hat der Wagen fast keinerlei moderne Assistenzsysteme an Bord und wiegt maximal federleichte 560 KG. All das sorgt dafür, dass der Caterham ein sehr anspruchsvoller und kompromissloser Supersportwagen ist, der knallharte Beschleunigung ermöglicht und professionelle Fahrer erfordert. Dennoch ist der Caterham ein beliebter und berühmter Sportwagen, der weitaus stärkeren und moderneren Fahrzeugen gefährlich werden kann. Dabei wird Luca Krüger von @starck_racing unterstützt. Wie geplant werden Luca und Gregor die RCN zusammen bestreiten, zu Saisoneröffnung war Gregor leider terminlich verhindert, stieß aber nachmittags als Zuschauer mit dazu. Diesmal wird gemeinsam angegriffen. Starten werden wir wieder in der Klasse H4, in der aktuell 11 Teilnehmer genannt sind.
