The playground at Marlado Highlands Park only has climbing apparatuses and one very bumpy slide. The second after Henry went down the slide, he repeatedly said “bumped, bumped, bumped”. He must have liked it though because he kept doing it over and over. Joseph Sepulveda Park This small neighborhood park didn’t have all the “most important” park items on our list so we didn’t stay very long. What are they missing? Swings and a good running path. Add those things and we would probably come back for another visit. In my opinion, the zip line apparatus was a good idea but executed poorly so that could be replaced with swings or a different swinging zip line model. I did thoroughly enjoy the sliding color puzzle on the playground! Yes, I did sit there and solve it while henry played on the slides 🤓 I also appreciated how clean the park was and the scavenger hunts on the play structures are always fun for kids. If you type in “Joseph Sepulveda Park”into google maps, you’ll be directed to the houses on Shenandoah Drive and then told to walk to your destination. Luiseño Park was fantastic! The 1/2 mile paved sidewalk around the perimeter of the park was perfect for our daily stroller jog. There is quite the assortment of bouncers! Henry played on every single one of them but had a special affinity for the two-person airplane and wanted me to sit on it with him the whole time. He also had me running up and down the large play structure to go down the swirly tube slide with him. It was actually quite fun! The playground at Joe Balderrama Park was really fun! There are music activities, bright colors, and different swings. Henry laughed so hard when I went on the tandem swing with him 😍 The reason why I didn’t absolutely love this park was because of the lack of cleanliness. Beware of the weekend crowds during sports seasons! One time, we tried to come to John Landes park on a Saturday and there were so many families here for baseball and soccer that there was not single parking spot in sight. We ended up driving over to a different park and coming back here on a weekday morning. It was so quiet! There was only one other family on the playground and a couple people letting their dogs run in the baseball fields. My favorite part about this park was the beautiful mature trees which offered a lot of shade! 📍2855 Cedar Rd, Oceanside, CA 92056 🚙Limited free parking in small lot but there’s free street parking as well 💰This park is free 🎠The play structure has a rubber/mulch ground surface.
