During a recent trip to the Shiawassee preserve, we spotted these feathered friends. I didn't know that Trumpet swans sometimes have pink/red feathering until they mature. I have old cellphones and digital cameras that I let my nephews and students use to take photos with. Then, I review the photos and upload them to our exoexplorersstudents iNat account. And today, I also taught my nephews how to id poison ivy. There was so much or it other trail we explorerd. We also did some birding, too, for the @tucsonaudubon Birdathon. We followed the Keswick to Threkeld Railway Path before heading up Latrigg's gentle ascent. In the evenings, the paths were fairly empty, no doubt that most were enjoying a drink and dinner in the towns. With the cooler temperatures of late, it felt like winter still, and my mind couldn't process how much daylight we had. But there it was, 7pm, golden hour, still able to see across Derwent Water to the peaks beyond.
