It's our favorite opossum Oliver!! He came to see us recently for a neuter, because he's getting company!! 🙂 A female opossum will be coming to the Nature Center to join Oliver ❣️ Because the center doesn't want a large number of baby opossums in captivity Oliver had to be neutered. We don't think he minded the procedure too much, as he got his favorite meal of Dubai roaches and a cucumber after he was awake 🙂💖 You did great Oliver! Oliver is a young oppossum that is a new addition to one of our local nature centers 💜 He was confiscated by our local animal control after being found housed as a pet. Unfortunately due to poor husbandry he did have wounds on his feet and nose 😔 We prescribed antibiotics and medication for his wounds to help him heal 💜 Keeping wildlife as pets can unfortunately cause problems for the wildlife as it is difficult to replicate the environmental needs they have. *It is also illegal to keep wildlife as pets* We look forward to Oliver's recovery, and him living a good and long life with the nature center 🙂❣️ #wildlifeofmd #mdwildlife #opossumsofmd #opossum #opossums #opossumsofinstagram
