And we celebrate with a special drink called "Pana"🍹 A pana can be made out of many things, but it's specially made out a very popular/unpopular fruit called Bael/wood apple. I couldn't find one so made another pana called Nabata Pana (Palm Jaggery) or Jaggery For this you take Nabata, soak in a little water so that it disintegrates, then add mashed ripe bananas, chenna (mashed paneer), grated coconut, little pepper powder, crushed cardamom, dry fruits of your choice, optionally saffron. Dilute it with ice and chilled water. Adjust consistency according to your choice. This is made in huge quantities and distributed across streets back home by many groups and individuals to pedestrians and commuters. A very pious deed, especially when Surya dev shows their peak side. If we go by mythology, during the Mahabharata, when severly hurt Bhishma was lying on the beds of arrows for eighteen days and was waiting to leave this world, he felt thirsty and there was no water in the battle field..Arjuna shot an arrow in the ground, and gush of water bursted out... After quenching thirst, Bhishma mentioned those who will offer water to thirsty on this day, will be freed from all sins..... ... .
