Yesterday I checked into Sandals Regency La Toc for a 2-night stay. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a butler room with a private pool 🤩 This resort is set in the hills overlooking the water and the Piton mountains. There are some fantastically themed lounges on the Disney Wish Case in point, The Rose - a subtly themed Beauty and the Beast location with an amazing view. Let’s face it, one of the most important parts of vacation is FOOD. And one of my favorite places to dine on my favorite island is The Salty Dog Cafe in Hilton Head, South Carolina. While there’s plenty of fancier places on the island, grabbing lunch on the patio of this dockside eatery is a must for my family every visit! They have AMAZING cocktails, and everything from appetizers, pizza, hand held (like below), and more. These are a few of our favorites: • grilled flounder • crab cake sandwich • fish & chips • grilled chicken (for my non- fish loving son) One thing that can’t be missed are their homemade hush puppies. This week we stayed at one of the few Walt Disney resorts I had not stayed at yet: Boardwalk Inn. I booked a Garden View Club Level (I'll post about that in another day) room for 5 nights. We were given a beautiful 2-story cottage. These rooms have a living room area downstairs with a TV, desk, couch, small kitchenette area (sink, refrigerator, keurig, microwave), and a powder room. Upstairs, there is a bedroom with lots of storage, and a large bathroom with a garden tub and separate shower/toilet area. We loved the location- right next to the quiet pool and hot tub! The only downsides we found were you can't have both tvs on at the same time because the room is open and echos. It also never got fully dark in the room because they had floor to ceiling plantation shutters.

🍽 Food Friday 🍽 I *finally* got to visit Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Disney's Hollywood Studios Toy Story Land last month! First (and maybe best of all), you can ride a toy horse to your table 🐴 Food is served family style and the menu has a variety of drinks and desserts. Throughout the meal, Andy's parents show up and all the toys (everyone in the restaurant) have to freeze until they're gone. Food was delicious and it was a LOT of food! Definitely come hungry!

Travel Tip Tuesday- Universal Orlando Edition The water taxis are a super convenient way to get around Universal Orlando. They travel from the 4 resorts (Sapphire Falls, Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, and Portofino Bay) to CityWalk. Pro Tip: If you stay at Aventura resort, you can walk next door to Sapphire Falls and take the water taxi from there! Might as well stop in and have a rum flight at Strongwater Tavern while you're at it...

Hmmm... I think for me it's about 2 weeks. I just spent 2 weeks in California/Vegas in January. I am getting ready to spend 16 days straight away from home in May. That might be the longest yet. From April 18 until June 4, I will be away from home 33 days (that means I will be at my own house just 14 out of 47 days 😅🫣😬).
Last week 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian finally reopened for the first time since the COVID shutdown. And while I’m personally mourning the loss of my favorite characters from this meal (the Step Sisters and Lady Tremaine made that experience) there are some exciting new characters here: Aladdin, Cinderella, Tiana, & Mirabel. This dining experience is now open for breakfast and dinner daily. Travel Tip Tuesday- Universal Edition Park to Park tickets are so worth it at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The parks are walking distance apart, so it is easy to leave one and go straight to the other. *Pro tip- you can't ride the Hogwarts Express without a park-to-park ticket!

When clients ask me where they should stay the night before their cruise from Port Canaveral, I always recommend the Hyatt Regency inside the Orlando Airport. With the new edition of the Brightline Train, it's also a good option for Miami and Fort Lauderdale cruises if Orlando flights are more economical. The hotel is inside the airport, so you don't have to go anywhere else after your flight. Grab your bags and head to check-in! Plus there's a great rooftop pool and TONS of dining and shopping options inside the airport! I stayed here last month the night before taking the train to Miami for my cruise and I'll be doing the same in May for a cruise from Port Canaveral.

In honor of World Compliment Day, I thought I’d mention one of the newest features on the My Disney Experience app. Now, you can send recognition to individual cast members. It’s simple, too. Just choose a positive sentiment from a drop-down menu, then enter the cast member’s first name, hometown and date of interaction. Make sure to spell the cast member’s first name and hometown correctly so the cast member will be alerted, along with their leader, and they can receive their personalized recognition! And if you didn’t catch a name, that’s okay, you can still share a compliment about the location or area where your magic happened! There are so many amazing Good Neighbor resorts at Disneyland! Disneyland only has 3 onsite hotels, but there are dozens of Good Neighbor hotels that are easy walking distance from the parks. The Anaheim Hotel is an affordable option with a fun, 1960s vibe! We loved our stay here last month. They've got a huge heated pool and jacuzzi, onsite bar and two restaurants, lawn games, gym, and laundry. And the best feature- rooms with 2 King Beds!

Power Up! Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Hollywood is AMAZING, especially for the gamer in your life. Walking through the green tube transported me right back to my childhood. This fully immersive land not only has an amazing ride that puts you inside the game of Mario Kart and amazing food, there's also an interactive game you can play with the help of Power-Up Bands! You gotta check it out!
